On 25 March 2026, the Government of Punjab notified that, no charges will be levied for downloading First Information Reports (FIRs) from the Sanjh Portal<\/a><\/span>, and no fee be charged for obtaining physical copies of FIRs from Sanjh Kendras<\/span>.<\/p>\n

The notification is issued by the Department of Good Governance and Information Technology<\/span> in continuation of earlier notifications issued in October and November 20251<\/sup><\/a> and in response to strong opposition from lawyers<\/span> challenging the decision of charging for FIR copies.<\/p>\n

It further states that the earlier service charge of ₹80 for this service has been withdrawn with immediate effect<\/span>, making FIRs available free of cost to the public through both online and offline platforms<\/span>.<\/p>\n
