With a legacy spanning over a century, it has produced distinguished legal minds who have significantly contributed to the judiciary, academia, and policymaking.<\/p>\n<h2>About the Competition<\/h2>\n<p style=\"margin-bottom: 3%;\">The competition has been envisioned as a sincere effort to build upon the strong foundation laid by its inaugural edition and to establish itself as a premier event on the national mooting circuit, proudly rooted in Kolkata. The theme of the present edition revolves around the <span style=\"font-weight: bold;\">liability of corporations pertaining to climate change<\/span>, a critical issue in our rapidly industrializing nation. The amalgamation of courtroom advocacy with climate activism offers participants a novel and enriching mooting experience.<\/p>\n<h2>Competition Format<\/h2>\n<p>The competition will be conducted in <span style=\"font-weight: bold;\">two phases: Virtual Rounds<\/span> and <span style=\"font-weight: bold;\">In-Person Rounds<\/span>.<\/p>\n<p style=\"font-weight: bold;\">Virtual Rounds (Saturday, June 6th, 2026)<\/p>\n<ul style=\"list-style-type: disc;\">\n<li>\n<p style=\"margin-bottom: 3%;\"><span style=\"font-weight: bold;\">Preliminary Rounds<\/span>: All registered teams will compete in the virtual preliminary rounds.<\/p>\n<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p style=\"font-weight: bold;\">In-Person Rounds (at the Department of Law, University of Calcutta)<\/p>\n<ul style=\"list-style-type: disc;\">\n<li>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: bold;\">Quarter-Finals<\/span>: The <span style=\"font-weight: bold;\">top 8 teams<\/span> from the preliminary rounds will advance to the quarter-finals. <span style=\"font-weight: bold;\">(Sunday, June 7th, 2026)<\/span><\/p>\n<\/li>\n<li>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: bold;\">Semi-Finals<\/span>: The winners of each of the Quarter-Finals will advance to the Semi-Finals. <span style=\"font-weight: bold;\">(Tuesday, June 23rd, 2026)<\/span><\/p>\n<\/li>\n<li>\n<p style=\"margin-bottom: 3%;\"><span style=\"font-weight: bold;\">Finals<\/span>: The winners of each of the Semi-Finals will compete for the championship. <span style=\"font-weight: bold;\">(Tuesday, June 23rd, 2026)<\/span><\/p>\n<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<h2>Registration Details<\/h2>\n<p>The registration process consists of <span style=\"font-weight: bold;\">two phases<\/span>, with corresponding fee payments:<\/p>\n<ul style=\"list-style-type: disc;\">\n<li>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: bold;\">Phase 1<\/span>: Initial registration fee &#8212; <span style=\"font-weight: bold;\">&#8377;2400 per team<\/span> (payable at the time of registration).<\/p>\n<\/li>\n<li>\n<p style=\"margin-bottom: 3%;\"><span style=\"font-weight: bold;\">Phase 2<\/span>: Only for teams qualifying for the <span style=\"font-weight: bold;\">In-Person Rounds (Quarter-Finals, Semi-Finals &amp;
