<span style=\"font-weight: bold;\">Ministry of Communications<\/span> notified the <span style=\"font-weight: bold;\">Post Office (Second Amendment) Regulations, 2026<\/span> to amend the <a href=\"http:\/\/www.scconline.com\/DocumentLink\/P81gSfF1\" target=\"_blank\"><span style=\"font-weight: bold;\">Post Office Regulations, 2024<\/span><\/a> introducing the concepts of &#8220;<span style=\"font-weight: bold;\">Premium Speed Post Document&#8221;<\/span> and <span style=\"font-weight: bold;\">&#8220;24 Speed Post Parcel&#8221;.<\/span><\/p>\n<p style=\"margin-bottom: 3%;\">The provisions will come into force from 17-3-2026.<\/p>\n<h3>All you need to know about &#8220;Premium Speed Post Document&#8221; introduced under Regulation 99-A:<\/h3>\n<ol style=\"list-style-type: decimal;\">\n<li>\n<p>This service will either be:<\/p>\n<ul style=\"list-style-type: disc;\">\n<li>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: bold;\">&#8220;24 Speed Post&#8221;-<\/span> delivering the next day from the date of booking; or<\/p>\n<\/li>\n<li>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: bold;\">&#8220;48 Speed Post&#8221;-<\/span> delivering within 2 days from the date of booking.<\/p>\n<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<\/li>\n<li>\n<p>This service will be available in metropolitan cities initially.<\/p>\n<\/li>\n<li>\n<p>Retail customers, bulk customers, and corporate customers entering into agreements with the Department of Posts will be eligible to avail these services.<\/p>\n<\/li>\n<li>\n<p style=\"font-weight: bold;\">Conditions relating to weight, size and permissible limits:<\/p>\n<ul style=\"list-style-type: disc;\">\n<li>\n<p>All speed posts will be transmitted by air.<\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: bold;\">Exception-<\/span> Posts that will reach faster when delivered by surface transmission.<\/p>\n<\/li>\n<li>\n<p>Weight should exceed 500gms including volumetric weight.<\/p>\n<\/li>\n<li>\n<p>Postage and other fees will be charged in accordance with volumetric wight or gross weight, whichever is higher.<\/p>\n<\/li>\n<li>\n<p>Size should not exceed the dimensions of 420mm (length), 297 mm (breadth), and 24mm (height).<\/p>\n<\/li>\n<li>\n<p>On payment of fees, pick-up facility, proof of delivery, insurance, registration, and other value- added services will be provided.<\/p>\n<\/li>\n<li>\n<p>These premium products should generally be address specific.<\/p>\n<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<\/li>\n<li>\n<p style=\"font-weight: bold;\">Tariffs:<\/p>\n<ul style=\"list-style-type: disc;\">\n<li>\n<p>24 Speed Post- specified in Table IV B of Schedule I;<\/p>\n<\/li>\n<li>\n<p>48 Speed Post- specified in Table IV C of Schedule I.<\/p>\n<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<\/li>\n<li>\n<p>For delivering value- added service of Registration and OTP delivery services, a f<span style=\"font-weight: bold;\">ee of Rs. 5<\/span> will be charged.<\/p>\n<\/li>\n<li>\n<p style=\"margin-bottom: 3%;\">The Circle head will specify the offices where the postal items called &#8220;Speed Post Document&#8221; and premium products &#8220;24 Speed Post&#8221; and &#8220;48 Speed Post&#8221; can be <span style=\"font-weight: bold;\">booked<\/span>.<\/p>\n<\/li>\n<\/ol>\n<h3>All you need to know about &#8220;24 Speed Post Parcel&#8221; introduced under Regulation 100-A:<\/h3>\n<ol style=\"list-style-type: decimal;\">\n<li>\n<p>It will be transmitted through air and will be delivered the next day from the date of booking.<\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: bold;\">Exception-<\/span> Posts that will reach faster when delivered by surface transmission.<\/p>\n<\/li>\n<li>\n<p>Weight slab table is specified under Table IV D of Schedule I which is based on volumetric weight or gross weight, whichever is higher.<\/p>\n<\/li>\n<li>\n<p>On payment of fees, pick-up facility, proof of delivery, insurance, registration, and other value- added services will be provided.<\/p>\n<\/li>\n<li>\n<p>OTP based delivery will be available as a bundled service with 24 Speed Post Parcel.<\/p>\n<\/li>\n<li>\n<p style=\"margin-bottom: 3%;\">This service will be available in metropolitan cities initially.<\/p>\n<\/li>\n<\/ol>\n<h3>The following Tables have been also introduced in Schedule I:<\/h3>\n<ol style=\"list-style-type: decimal;\">\n<li>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: bold;\">Table IV
