Since 2023, the competition was conceived to strengthen the practical dimensions of legal education by equipping students with essential courtroom skills, including trial advocacy, legal research, drafting, witness examination, and courtroom etiquette. NTTAC provides participants with meaningful experiential learning and prepares aspiring litigators for effective practice before trial courts.<\/p>\n<p style=\"margin-bottom: 3%;\">The competition was inaugurated on Saturday, 28 February 2026, at 10:00 AM by Advocate Nagapriya and Advocate Karthik Kanna. In their inaugural addresses, they underscored the indispensable role of advocacy in the administration of justice and emphasized that clarity of thought, ethical integrity, and persuasive articulation are foundational attributes of a competent advocate. The ceremony marked the formal commencement of the event, which witnessed the participation of 22 teams representing law colleges from across the country.<\/p>\n<p style=\"margin-bottom: 3%;\">Two Preliminary Rounds were conducted on the same day to ensure a comprehensive evaluation of all participating teams. The assessment focused on the application of legal principles to factual scenarios, effectiveness in examination-in-chief and cross-examination, clarity and coherence of arguments, and the ability to raise and respond to objections. The proposition revolved around a case under the <a href=\"https:\/\/www.scconline.com\/DocumentLink.aspx?q=JTXT-0002825996\" target=\"_blank\">Protection of Children from Sexual Offences (POCSO) Act, 2012<\/a>. Based on cumulative scores, the top eight teams advanced to the Quarter-Final stage.<\/p>\n<p style=\"margin-bottom: 3%;\">The Quarter-Finals were conducted as knock-out rounds, heightening the competitive intensity of the event. Four teams progressed to the Semi-Finals: Government Law College, Tiruchirappalli; SASTRA School of Law, Thanjavur; B.S. Abdur Rahman Crescent Institute of Science and Technology; and Government Law College, Theni. The Semi-Finals, also conducted as knock-out rounds on 1 March 2026, showcased an impressive standard of advocacy. Upon the conclusion of this round, SASTRA School of Law and Government Law College, Theni secured their places in the Final Round.<\/p>\n<p style=\"margin-bottom: 3%;\">The Final Round commenced at 2:00 PM on the same day and was adjudicated by Dr R. Malathi, II Additional District Judge; Prof. (Dr.) S.M. Balakrishnan, Registrar, Tamil Nadu National Law University; and Shri A. Ramesh, Senior Advocate, who also graced the valedictory ceremony as the Chief Guest. The finalist teams demonstrated exceptional advocacy skills, sound legal reasoning, and strategic command over both facts and law. Their articulate responses to judicial interventions and strict adherence to courtroom decorum reflected the depth of their preparation.<\/p>\n<p style=\"margin-bottom: 3%;\">The 4th National Tamil Trial Advocacy Competition, 2026 concluded on a resounding note, reaffirming Tamil Nadu National Law University&#8217;s commitment to bridging the gap between academic instruction and practical
