On 10 March 2026, the General Administration Department of Maharashtra issued a Government Resolution introducing “Come Early — Go Early”, a flexibility in office attendance<\/span> for female officers and employees working in the Mumbai Metropolitan Region (MMR)<\/span>.<\/p>\n

Background:<\/h2>\n

The standard working hours for all government offices are Monday to Friday, 9:45 AM to 6:15 PM<\/span>. A prior Government Resolution issued on 31 December 2014<\/span>, already allowed 60 minutes of flexibility<\/span> for Mantralaya (state secretariat) employees regarding reporting time.<\/p>\n

Government notes that women employed in the MMR often face long commute times<\/span>, particularly especially Mumbai’s suburban trains experience severe crowding during peak hours<\/span>.<\/p>\n

Considering these challenges, the government sought to provide additional attendance flexibility<\/span> specifically for women government officers\/employees in the MMR.<\/p>\n
