March 2026, the Ministry of Petroleum and Natural Gas (MoPNG) has directed oil refineries to <span style=\"font-weight: bold;\">increase Liquefied Petroleum Gas (LPG) production<\/span> and instructed them to ensure that all the <span style=\"font-weight: bold;\">additional output will be diverted exclusively for domestic household use<\/span>.<\/p>\n<p style=\"font-weight: bold;\">Key Highlights of Petroleum Ministry&#8217;s Order on LPG Production:<\/p>\n<ul style=\"list-style-type: disc;\">\n<li>\n<p>This Order is in response to current geopolitical disruptions affecting fuel supply and tightening the availability of LPG.<\/p>\n<\/li>\n<li>\n<p>According to the Ministry, the orders have been issued to oil refineries to <span style=\"font-weight: bold;\">increase LPG production<\/span> and direct the additional output specifically toward <span style=\"font-weight: bold;\">domestic LPG use<\/span>.<\/p>\n<\/li>\n<li>\n<p>As part of these measures, the Ministry has <span style=\"font-weight: bold;\">prioritised domestic LPG supply to households<\/span> and introduced a <span style=\"font-weight: bold;\">25day inter-booking period<\/span> to prevent hoarding and black marketing.<\/p>\n<\/li>\n<li>\n<p>The Ministry has further announced that the non-domestic supplies from <span style=\"font-weight: bold;\">imported LPG<\/span> are being prioritised for essential sectors, including <span style=\"font-weight: bold;\">hospitals and educational institutions<\/span>, to ensure uninterrupted functioning of critical services even amid strained supply conditions.<\/p>\n<\/li>\n<li>\n<p>Addressing the concerns of commercial establishments, the Ministry has also set up a <span style=\"font-weight: bold;\">committee of 3 Executive Directors from Oil Marketing Companies (OMCs)<\/span>.<\/p>\n<\/li>\n<li>\n<p style=\"margin-bottom: 3%;\">This committee will review requests for LPG supply from <span style=\"font-weight: bold;\">restaurants, hotels,
