About CHRIST (Deemed to be University)<\/h2>\n

CHRIST (Deemed to be University), Bangalore, was founded in 1969 as Christ College, inspired by the educational vision of St. Kuriakose Elias Chavara. Over the years, it evolved into a leading institution of higher education, gaining autonomy in 2004, recognition as an “Institution with Potential for Excellence” in 2006, and Deemed University status in 2008, and was Accredited with an ‘A+’ grade by NAA.<\/p>\n

About the Competition<\/h2>\n

The 6th CHRIST Mediation—Arbitration Competition, 2026, is the flagship event of the Alternative Dispute Resolution Board of School of Law, CHRIST (Deemed to be University), Bangalore, for the academic year. It is one of the few competitions in the country that offers a unique blend of arbitration and mediation. It is designed to provide participants with hands-on professional exposure to both arbitration and mediation through carefully drafted and reviewed propositions. In a rapidly evolving legal landscape, the competition underscores the continuing relevance of Alternative Dispute Resolution as an efficient and specialised means of resolving disputes.<\/p>\n

Reflecting India’s longstanding tradition of consensual dispute resolution, the competition follows the Med-Arb format, integrating mediation and arbitration processes. Mediation involves parties engaging with an impartial and trained mediator to work toward mutually acceptable solutions, while arbitration constitutes a private dispute resolution process in which parties submit their disagreements to appointed arbitrators whose decisions are binding.<\/p>\n

Eligibility<\/h2>\n
