On 24-12-2025, the India International Arbitration Centre<\/span> notified the India International Arbitration Centre (Transaction of Business of Committees) Regulations, 2025<\/span> to clarify and formalize the internal governance processes of the India International Arbitration Centre’s committees. The provisions came into force on 24-12-2025.<\/p>\n

Key Provisions:<\/h3>\n
    \n
  1. \n

    Meetings of the Committee:<\/p>\n

      \n
    • \n

      The Committee will meet at least twice a year;<\/p>\n<\/li>\n

    • \n

      In case, all the items of business are not covered in one sitting, the meeting can be adjourned from time to time;<\/p>\n<\/li>\n

    • \n

      An extraordinary meeting can be called by the Chairperson or by at least 3 members of the Committee by giving notice in writing.<\/p>\n<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<\/li>\n

    • \n

      Notice of Meeting:<\/p>\n

        \n
      • \n

        It will be signed by the Deputy Registrar intimating the time, date, and place of meeting.<\/p>\n<\/li>\n

      • \n

        The notice will be sent to every member through electronic mail, at least 7 days before the date of the meeting and in case of an extraordinary meeting at least 3 days before the date of the meeting.<\/p>\n<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<\/li>\n

      • \n

        The Deputy Registrar will be responsible for preparation of the agenda<\/span> for each meeting and circulate it to all members of the Committee:<\/p>\n

          \n
        • \n

          At least 3 days prior in case of ordinary meeting;<\/p>\n<\/li>\n

        • \n

          At least 2 days prior in case of an extraordinary meeting.<\/p>\n<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<\/li>\n

        • \n

          Quorum:<\/p>\n

            \n
          • \n

            3 members of the Committee present in person or through virtual mode.<\/p>\n<\/li>\n

          • \n

            No business will be transacted at any meeting unless the quorum is present throughout the meeting.<\/p>\n<\/li>\n

          • \n

            In case the quorum is not present, the presiding member will adjourn the meeting.<\/p>\n<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<\/li>\n

          • \n

            The Deputy Registrar<\/span> will be responsible for preparing the minutes of the meeting<\/span> and the same will be recorded in the minutes book within a period of 2 weeks and submit it the presiding Chairman for approval.<\/p>\n<\/li>\n

          • \n

            Presiding Chairman:<\/p>\n

              \n
            • \n

              Every meeting of the Executive Committee, the Works Committee and the Policy Advisory Committee, will be presided over by a member to be nominated by the Centre either generally or on a case to case basis, and in his absence by any other member, chosen by the members present in the meeting of the Committee from amongst themselves.<\/p>\n<\/li>\n

            • \n

              Every meeting of the Finance and Administration Committee will be presided over by the Financial Advisor, Ministry of Law and Justice.<\/p>\n<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<\/li>\n

            • \n

              All questions raised or decisions to be taken during any meeting of the Committee will be determined by a majority of votes by the members present and voting.<\/p>\n<\/li>\n<\/ol>\n<\/div>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"
