ABOUT THE WEST BENGAL NATIONAL UNIVERSITY OF JURIDICAL SCIENCES, KOLKATA:<\/h3>\n

The West Bengal National University of Juridical Sciences is a Tier-1 law institute situated in the city of Kolkata, India. The University is a premier national law school in India built around the five-year law degree model proposed and implemented by the Bar Council of India. The university is ranked the 4th<\/span> best in the country by NIRF and serves as a dream for many law students to enter. The almuni of NUJS are well placed across national and international law firms as well as in judiciary and litigation. It is also one of the only three national law schools to have the Chief Justice of India as the de facto Chancellor.<\/p>\n

ABOUT THE COMPETITION:<\/h3>\n

The Competition is one of NUJS’s premier advocacy and skills-based events and seeks to simulate real-world lawyer—client interactions, with a focus on interviewing, counselling, analytical reasoning, and professional responsibility. The Competition has 20 slots, reserved on an invite-only, as well as first-come-first-serve basis. Provisional Registration for the first-come-first-serve slots can be completed by sending an email to clientcounselling@nujs.edu<\/a>.<\/span><\/p>\n

Since its inception in 2018, the Competition has witnessed enthusiastic participation from universities across the country. The Competition is designed to test students’ legal acumen by placing them in practical legal scenarios, thereby fostering skills that are central to effective legal practice, particularly in the areas of dispute resolution and client advisory.<\/p>\n

The 5th Edition builds on its strong legacy through collaborations with leading law firms and institutions, and continues its emphasis on Alternative Dispute Resolution and practical advocacy.<\/p>\n

OUTLAWED 2026:<\/h3>\n

We would also like to highlight that the Competition<\/span> coincides with Outlawed<\/span>, the flagship cultural festival of NUJS, which will be held from February 13, 2025 to February 15, 2025, on campus. Outlawed has historically featured stellar artist performances that contribute to its vibrant atmosphere: recent editions have seen performances by emerging singer-songwriter Chaar Diwaari<\/span> and celebrated artists such as Prateek Juhad, Darzi, Nalayak, and Prabhdeep<\/span>, while previous years have hosted acts like TRAP — The Radical Array Project.<\/span> I<\/span>n recognition of this, the registration fee for the Client Counselling Competition includes entry passes to Day 1 and Day 2 of Outlawed<\/span>, giving your team full access to all cultural events and artist performances throughout the festival. Full access passes for all days can be obtained by paying an additional nominal fee, if interested.<\/p>\n
