The event brought together alumni advocates from various batches, reaffirming the Faculty&#8217;s longstanding commitment to accessible justice and public-spirited legal practice.<\/p>\n<h3>About the Faculty of Law<\/h3>\n<p style=\"margin-bottom: 3%;\">The <a href=\"https:\/\/udrc.lkouniv.ac.in\/Department\/DepartmentDetail\/History?dept=30\" target=\"_blank\">Faculty of Law, University of Lucknow<\/a>, is one of India&#8217;s oldest and most respected centres of legal education. Established in 1921, it has shaped generations of distinguished jurists, scholars, and public leaders who have contributed nationally and internationally. With an academic legacy built by stalwarts such as Professor R. U. Singh and continued by eminent alumni serving as Judges of the Supreme Court, High Courts, academicians, public leaders, including former Presidents, Chief Ministers, Governors, and other constitutional offices, the Faculty continues to uphold its century-old commitment to advancing legal scholarship, public service, and accessible justice.<\/p>\n<h3>About the Pro Bono Club, Faculty of Law, University of Lucknow<\/h3>\n<p style=\"margin-bottom: 3%;\">The Pro Bono Club of the Faculty of Law functions under the Nyaya Bandhu (Pro Bono Legal Services) Programme of the Department of Justice with the mission of integrating legal education with public service. Over the past few years (<span style=\"font-style: italic;\">since September 2023<\/span>), under the guidance of <a href=\"https:\/\/udrc.lkouniv.ac.in\/department\/ViewProfile?EId=592\" target=\"_blank\"><span class=\"Hyperlink\" style=\"font-weight: bold;\">Prof. (Dr.) Alok Kumar Yadav<\/span><\/a>, the Club has grown into a dynamic government backed student-led platform facilitating structured pro bono work, legal literacy drives, community outreach, and litigation assistance. Serving as a bridge between law students, alumni advocates, and the Department of Justice, the Club works to strengthen a culture of pro bono engagement and ensure that legal support reaches underserved and marginalised communities.<\/p>\n<h3>Alumni Nyaya Bandhu Advocates Meet<\/h3>\n<p style=\"margin-bottom: 3%;\">The Meet aimed to sensitise alumni advocates to the structure and objectives of the Nyaya Bandhu Programme and to encourage their engagement in structured pro bono work. It further sought to strengthen collaboration between the Pro Bono Club and its alumni network, while facilitating on-spot enrolment under the Nyaya Bandhu Portal to foster a culture of meaningful and accountable pro bono service.<\/p>\n<p style=\"margin-bottom: 3%;\">The session commenced with a welcome address by <span style=\"font-weight: bold;\">Prof. (Dr.) Alok Kumar Yadav<\/span>, Faculty-in-Charge, Pro Bono Club, who highlighted the enduring legacy of the Faculty of Law and the vital role of alumni in advancing legal aid initiatives. The invited guest speaker, <span style=\"font-weight: bold;\">Shri Shailendra Singh Rajawat, Advocate, High Court of Judicature at Allahabad, Lucknow Bench<\/span>, delivered an insightful and comprehensive talk on the <span style=\"font-style: italic;\">Free Legal Aid Framework in India<\/span> along with an overview of the <span style=\"font-style: italic;\">Nyaya Bandhu (Pro Bono Legal Services) Scheme<\/span>.<\/p>\n<p style=\"margin-bottom: 3%;\">The Meet was further advanced by <a href=\"https:\/\/www.linkedin.com\/in\/arslu?utm_source=share&amp;utm_campaign=share_via&amp;utm_content=profile&amp;utm_medium=android_app\" target=\"_blank\"><span class=\"Hyperlink\"><span style=\"font-weight: bold;\">Mr.<\/span> <span style=\"font-weight: bold;\">Aditya Raj Soni<\/span><\/span><\/a>, Student Coordinator, Pro Bono Club, who detailed the <span style=\"font-style: italic;\">procedure for advocate enrolment<\/span> under the Nyaya Bandhu (Pro Bono Legal Services) Scheme and outlined the <span style=\"font-style: italic;\">expectations and responsibilities<\/span> of Alumni Pro Bono Advocates. His presentation provided a structured pathway for alumni to meaningfully engage with the Department of Justice&#8217;s pro bono framework.<\/p>\n<p style=\"margin-bottom: 3%;\">An interactive segment followed, where several alumni advocates shared their views on their professional responsibilities towards free legal aid, the significance of institutional support in pro bono practice, and the importance of collective commitment to strengthening access to justice for marginalised communities.<\/p>\n<p style=\"margin-bottom: 3%;\">A total of <span style=\"font-weight: bold;\">18 alumni advocates registered on the Nyaya Bandhu Portal<\/span> through the on-spot enrolment desk facilitated by the Pro Bono Club, marking a significant step in expanding the Faculty&#8217;s pro bono
