line-height: 150%;\">\n<p style=\"margin-bottom: 3%;\">On 29-11-2025, the Supreme Court issued Circular centred around streamlining of service and listing of Bail Petitions filed in the Supreme Court.<\/p>\n<h3>Key Directions:<\/h3>\n<ul style=\"list-style-type: disc;\">\n<li>\n<p>Henceforth <span style=\"font-weight: bold;\">in all Bail Petitions<\/span> filed in Supreme Court,<span style=\"font-weight: bold;\"> immediately on registration<\/span>, the Advocate-on-Record for the Petitioner(s)\/Petitioner(s)-in-Person <span style=\"font-weight: bold;\">are required to serve an advance copy of the Petition<\/span> upon the Standing Counsel\/Nodal Officer for the Respondent-Union of India\/State\/Union Territory.<\/p>\n<\/li>\n<li>\n<p>After serving the advance copy of the Bail Petition, the Advocate-on-Record for the Petitioner(s)\/Petitioner(s)-in-Person <span style=\"font-weight: bold;\">should file proof of service<\/span> thereof in the Registry, <span style=\"font-weight: bold;\">without which the Bail Petition shall not be verified and listed<\/span> before the Court.<\/p>\n<\/li>\n<li>\n<p>All the nominated Standing Counsel\/Nodal Officers to <span style=\"font-weight: bold;\">ensure adequate representation<\/span> on behalf of their respective Respondent-Union of India\/State\/Union Territory at the time of listing of such Bail Petitions before the Court.<\/p>\n<\/li>\n<li>\n<p>The Circular further appended the list of the Standing Counsel\/Nodal Officer, as furnished by Union of India\/States\/Union Territories. <span style=\"font-weight: bold;\">This List included the following:<\/span><\/p>\n<ol style=\"list-style-type: decimal;\">\n<li>\n<p>Standing Counsel\/Nodal Officer(s) as nominated for Union of India and its Agencies, viz., CBI etc. and Delhi Police in accordance with the provisions of Order LIII Rule 1(a)(ii)(3) of the <a href=\"https:\/\/www.scconline.com\/DocumentLink.aspx?q=JTXT-0002844032\" target=\"_blank\">Supreme Court Rules, 2013<\/a> to receive advance copy of the Bail Petitions.<\/p>\n<\/li>\n<li>\n<p>Standing Counsel\/Nodal Officer(s) as nominated by the respective States to receive advance copy of the Bail Petitions<\/p>\n<\/li>\n<li>\n<p>Standing Counsel\/Nodal Officer(s) as nominated by the respective Union Territories to receive advance copy of the Bail Petitions<\/p>\n<\/li>\n<\/ol>\n<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<\/div>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p style=\"font-style: italic;\">This procedure related circular has been issued under the tenure of newly appointed Chief Justice of India, Justice Surya Kant.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"author":3,"featured_media":368284,"comment_status":"open","ping_status":"open","sticky":false,"template":"","format":"standard","meta":{"_jetpack_memberships_contains_paid_content":false,"footnotes":""},"categories":[4,1193],"tags":[93716,93707,93718,40730,93719,93717,93720,44435],"class_list":["post-368275","post","type-post","status-publish","format-standard","has-post-thumbnail","hentry","category-legislationupdates","category-notifications","tag-bail-petitions","tag-cji-surya-kant","tag-listing-of-bail-petitions","tag-nodal-officers","tag-proof-of-service","tag-service-of-advance-copy","tag-service-of-bail-petitions","tag-standing-counsel"],"yoast_head":"<!-- This site is optimized with the Yoast SEO Premium plugin v26.4 (Yoast SEO v26.4) - https:\/\/yoast.com\/wordpress\/plugins\/seo\/ -->\n<title>SC issues circular for streamlining service of Bail Petitions<\/title>\n<meta name=\"description\" content=\"Supreme Court issues circular for streamlining service of Bail Petitions;
