On 29-11-2025, the Supreme Court of India issued a circular partially modifying the procedures\/modalities relating to circulation of Letters seeking for adjournment of cases<\/span>. The revised rules take effect from 01-12-2025<\/span>.<\/p>\n

Key guidelines on Adjournment Requests:<\/h3>\n

  1. \n

    Letters for adjournment of cases listed before the Hon’ble Courts are permitted to be circulated by the Advocates-on-Record\/Parties-in-Person in all cases except fixed date\/mentioned matters, till 11:00 a.m., on the previous working day.<\/p>\n<\/li>\n

  2. \n

    Such letters for adjournment shall be entertained only after obtaining consent of the Advocates\/Parties-in-Person appearing on the other side. Unless such prior consent\/no objection of the Advocates\/Parties-in-Person appearing on the other side\/Caveator is obtained, the same would not be considered.<\/p>\n<\/li>\n

    Specific reason for seeking adjournment and number of adjournments already sought shall be mentioned.<\/p>\n<\/li>\n

  4. \n

    Adjournment of the case would be considered only in case of<\/p>\n
