As a proud knowledge partner for this initiative, <span style=\"font-weight: bold;\">SCC Online<\/span> witnessed how the next generation of policymakers is poised to address some of the &#8220;teething challenges&#8221; in AI Governance including intellectual property rights ownership, deep fakes, maintenance of academic integrity, compliance with DPDP through practical and effective policy solutions creating a harmonized framework in line with the existing global frameworks such as the EU AI Act and OECD guidelines.<\/p>\n<p>The response to the challenge is a testament to the growing interest in tech policy among Indian students:<\/p>\n<ul style=\"list-style-type: disc;\">\n<li>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: bold;\">50+ teams across the nation<\/span> expressed interest in the challenge.<\/p>\n<\/li>\n<li>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: bold;\">40+ teams<\/span> submitted comprehensive Policy Briefs for the Virtual Round.<\/p>\n<\/li>\n<li>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: bold;\">15 teams<\/span> were shortlisted for the Semi-Finals.<\/p>\n<\/li>\n<li>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: bold;\">9 teams<\/span> competed in the intense in-person Semi-Final &amp; Final rounds at the KSPP campus.<\/p>\n<\/li>\n<li>\n<p style=\"margin-bottom: 3%;\"><span style=\"font-weight: bold;\">4 teams<\/span> advanced to the Grand Finale.<\/p>\n<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p style=\"margin-bottom: 3%;\">The expert panel that served as the jury for the competition for the semi-final and final rounds comprised <span style=\"font-weight: bold;\"><a href=\"https:\/\/www.linkedin.com\/in\/aditya-gupta-195b27134\/\" target=\"_blank\">Aditya Gupta<\/a><\/span> from SCC Online Ms. <a href=\"https:\/\/www.linkedin.com\/in\/krititrehan\/\" target=\"_blank\"><span style=\"font-weight: bold;\">Kriti Trehan<\/span><\/a> <a href=\"https:\/\/www.linkedin.com\/in\/dr-srinivas-yanamandra-1303769\/\" target=\"_blank\"><span style=\"font-weight: bold;\">Dr Srinivas Yanamandra<\/span><\/a>, Dr. <a href=\"https:\/\/www.linkedin.com\/in\/venkat-nadella-2774201aa\/\" target=\"_blank\"><span style=\"font-weight: bold;\">Venkat Nadella<\/span><\/a> , Dr. <a href=\"https:\/\/www.linkedin.com\/in\/vishnu-sivarudran-pillai-phd-bb9838a0\/\" target=\"_blank\"><span style=\"font-weight: bold;\">Vishnu Sivarudran Pillai, PhD<\/span><\/a>, Mr. <a href=\"https:\/\/www.linkedin.com\/in\/sksai\/\" target=\"_blank\"><span style=\"font-weight: bold;\">Sai Krishna Singupuram<\/span><\/a>. Their industry expertise and sharp incisive inquiries added immense value to the evaluation process, pushing the students to engage in a rigorous debate and think on their feet to bridge the gap between theory and practical legal and policy decision making.<\/p>\n<p style=\"margin-bottom: 3%;\">The judges did not just evaluate the legality of the solutions; they grilled the participants to step into the shoes of stakeholders including the government, corporations&#8217;, startups, and civil society&#8212;forcing them to think from a 360&deg; perspective beyond their written briefs and questioning the underlying assumptions of the team&#8217;s policy definitions. Participants had to further defend their proposals against &#8220;stress tests,&#8221; exploring deeper nuances of the problems and the feasibility of their proposed solutions.<\/p>\n<p style=\"margin-bottom: 3%;\">Teams also had to delve upon the accuracy, need, and efficiency of existing regulations including the <a href=\"https:\/\/www.scconline.com\/DocumentLink.aspx?q=JTXT-9001593555\" target=\"_blank\">DPDP Act, 2023<\/a> along with the recently notified DPDP Rules 2025, <a href=\"https:\/\/www.scconline.com\/DocumentLink.aspx?q=JTXT-0002796572\" target=\"_blank\">Information Technology Act, 2000<\/a>, The <a href=\"https:\/\/www.scconline.com\/DocumentLink.aspx?q=JTXT-9000760328\" target=\"_blank\">Information Technology (Intermediary Guidelines and Digital Media Ethics Code) Rules, 2021<\/a> along with the recent amendments and the India AI Governance Guidelines, 2025.<\/p>\n<h3>Celebrating the Hard work of the Future Policy Makers<\/h3>\n<p style=\"margin-bottom: 3%; margin-left: 18pt;\">\ud83c\udfc6 <span style=\"font-weight: bold;\">Winners (&#8377;60,000): Winners: <a href=\"https:\/\/www.linkedin.com\/in\/siddharth-aiyar-03468921a\/\" target=\"_blank\">Siddharth Aiyar<\/a> and <a href=\"https:\/\/www.linkedin.com\/in\/prathiksha-rao-85143121a\/\" target=\"_blank\">Prathiksha Rao<\/a><\/span>&#8212; <span style=\"font-style: italic;\">National Law University (NLU), Odisha<\/span><\/p>\n<p style=\"margin-bottom: 3%; margin-left: 18pt;\">\ud83e\udd48 <span style=\"font-weight: bold;\">Runners-Up (&#8377;40,000): <a href=\"https:\/\/www.linkedin.com\/in\/abhijeet-raut-116516303\/\" target=\"_blank\">Abhijeet Raut<\/a> and <a href=\"https:\/\/www.linkedin.com\/in\/anoushka-sharan-a51b72242\/\" target=\"_blank\">Anoushka Sharan<\/a><\/span> &#8212; <span style=\"font-style: italic;\">Kautilya School of Public Policy (KSPP)<\/span><\/p>\n<h3>Unlocking Opportunities<\/h3>\n<p style=\"\">At SCC Online, we believe that access to the right resources, insights, and knowledge is the foundation of good legal and policy decision making.
