Crafting Policy for Environmental Justice<\/p>\n

The Policy Problem: Balancing Economic Growth and Article 21<\/span><\/p>\n

The Indian Constitution recognises the right to a healthy environment as an indispensable component of the Right to Life under Article 21. However, rapid industrialisation and economic growth often create conflicts with environmental preservation and the constitutional guarantee of environmental justice.<\/p>\n

The challenge before the participants is to design a Transformative Policy or a Constitutional Amendment Proposal aimed at effectively institutionalising environmental justice and ensuring sustainable development across all tiers of governance in India.<\/p>\n

The proposed solution must answer:<\/span><\/p>\n

How can India develop a robust, constitutional-level policy framework to harmonise the nation’s developmental aspirations (Viksit Bharat @2047) with its fundamental duty to protect and improve the environment, ensuring environmental justice for present and future generations?<\/p>\n

Cash prizes will be awarded to the top three policy proposals. Certificates of Merit will be issued to all participants who present their proposals.<\/p>\n

2nd<\/span> Prize:₹<\/span> 1,000\/-<\/span> <\/span>(Rupees One Thousand Only)<\/span><\/p>\n

    Eligibility:<\/span> Participation is strictly on an individual basis<\/span>. No teams or co- authorship are permitted. The Hackathon is open to students, academicians, legal practitioners, policymakers, and research scholars.<\/p>\n<\/li>\n
