Bangladesh International Crimes Tribunal:<\/span> On 17-11-2025, while concluding the trial for trial concerning ordering severe crackdown on a student-led uprising in 2024 in Bangladesh, the International Crimes Tribunal, convicted ousted Bangladesh Prime Minister, Sheikh Hasina of crimes against humanity. The Tribunal further ordered the execution by hanging of ousted Prime Minister for killing of several people during the uprising along with former Home Minister Asaduzzaman Khan Kamal.<\/p>\n

Furthermore, former Inspector General of Police (IGP) Chowdhury Abdullah Al-Mamun was sentenced to 5 years in prison after admitting his involvement.<\/p>\n

The former leaders were found guilty of crimes against humanity after the Tribunal found that the ousted PM had ordered a deadly crackdown on a student-led uprising. Sheikh Hasina also got a life sentence under charges for crimes against humanity.<\/p>\n

In early July, a university student protest began over Bangladesh’s job quota system that disproportionately benefits the descendants of Bangladesh’s 1971 liberation war fighters. This protest took a violent turn with multiple deaths and out of control violence. These protests subsequently became one of the reasons contributing to the ouster of PM Sheikh Hasina1<\/sup><\/a>.<\/p>\n
