<span style=\"font-weight: bold;\">Central Board of Direct Taxes<\/span> (&#8216;CBDT&#8217;) announced the extension of key statutory due dates under the <span style=\"font-weight: bold;\">Income-tax Act, 1961<\/span> for the <span style=\"font-weight: bold;\">Assessment Year (AY) 2025&mdash;26<\/span>.<\/p>\n<p style=\"margin-bottom: 3%;\">The due date for furnishing the Return of Income under Section 139(1) of the <span style=\"font-weight: bold;\">Act<\/span>, originally set as <a href=\"https:\/\/www.scconline.com\/blog\/post\/2025\/09\/26\/cbdt-extends-audit-deadline-ay-2025-26\/\" target=\"_blank\">31-10-2025<\/a> for assessee(s) referred to Explanation 2(a) to that section.<\/p>\n<p style=\"margin-bottom: 3%;\">The deadline now stands extended to <span style=\"font-weight: bold;\">10-12-2025.<\/span><\/p>\n<p style=\"margin-bottom: 3%;\">Additionally, the &#8216;<span style=\"font-weight: bold;\">specified date<\/span>&#8217; for furnishing the <span style=\"font-weight: bold;\">report of audit for the Previous Year 2024&mdash;25<\/span>, which was initially due on 30-9-2025 and subsequently extended to 31-10-2025, has now been further extended to <span style=\"font-weight: bold;\">10-11-2025<\/span>.<\/p>\n<p>These extensions apply to:<\/p>\n<ul style=\"list-style-type: disc;\">\n<li>\n<p>Companies<\/p>\n<\/li>\n<li>\n<p>Firms<\/p>\n<\/li>\n<li>\n<p style=\"margin-bottom: 3%;\">Entities whose accounts are subject to audit under the Act or any other applicable law.<\/p>\n<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p style=\"margin-bottom: 3%;\">This move provides significant relief to taxpayers and professionals engaged in tax compliance and audit activities, offering additional time to meet statutory obligations without incurring penalties.<\/p>\n<p style=\"margin-bottom: 3%;\"><a
