National Human Rights Commission:<\/span> On 22-10-2025, the National Human Rights Commission (NHRC) took suo motu<\/span> cognizance of the reported attacks on three journalists in Kerala and Manipur on 31-08-2025, and Tripura on 21-09-2025.<\/p>\n

As per the media reports, the first journalist was attacked while covering a flower festival in Laii Village, Senapathi, Manipur. He was shot twice with an air gun, causing severe injuries. In Kerala, the second journalist was assaulted by a group of people when he reached Mangattukavala while returning from a wedding function.<\/p>\n

Lastly, the third journalist was assaulted by a group of miscreants with sticks and sharp weapons while he was attending a clothes distribution program organised by a political party in Hezamara, Tripura. His motorcycle was also stolen.<\/p>\n

Reportedly, all three journalists were hospitalised for treatment, and cases were registered by the police.<\/p>\n

Accordingly, the NHRC issued notices to the Director Generals of Police of the three states, calling for detailed reports within two weeks.<\/p>\n<\/div>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"
