The advocate allegedly attempted to attack the <span style=\"font-weight: bold;\">Hon&#8217;ble Chief Justice of India (CJI) BR Gavai<\/span>.<\/p>\n<h3>Background:<\/h3>\n<p style=\"margin-bottom: 3%;\">On the morning of October 6<span style=\"vertical-align: super;\">th<\/span>, during a live hearing in <span style=\"font-weight: bold;\">Court No. 1 of the Supreme Court<\/span>, Advocate Kishore reportedly <span style=\"font-weight: bold;\">removed his sports shoes and attempted to hurl them at CJI BR Gavai<\/span>. Security personnel promptly intervened and detained the advocate on the spot.<\/p>\n<p style=\"margin-bottom: 3%;\">The incident stunned the courtroom and disrupted the ongoing proceedings, raising serious concerns about professional conduct and the adequacy of courtroom security.<\/p>\n<h3>Suspension Grounds:<\/h3>\n<ul style=\"list-style-type: disc;\">\n<li>\n<p>BCI cited violations under the <span style=\"font-weight: bold;\"><a href=\"https:\/\/www.scconline.com\/DocumentLink.aspx?q=JTXT-0002806286\" target=\"_blank\">Advocates Act, 1961<\/a><\/span> and <span style=\"font-weight: bold;\">Chapter II (Part VI) of the Bar Council of India Rules<\/span>, specifically Section I, Rules 1, 2, and 3.<\/p>\n<\/li>\n<li>\n<p>These rules mandate that advocates maintain dignity, self-respect, and a respectful attitude toward the judiciary, and refrain from any illegal or improper conduct that can influence judicial proceedings.<\/p>\n<\/li>\n<li>\n<p style=\"margin-bottom: 3%;\">The order states that Kishore&#8217;s actions were &#8220;inconsistent with the dignity of the court&#8221; and constituted a <span style=\"font-weight: bold;\">prima facie breach of professional ethics<\/span>.<\/p>\n<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<h3>Suspension order:<\/h3>\n<ul style=\"list-style-type: disc;\">\n<li>\n<p>An <span style=\"font-weight: bold;\">interim order<\/span> has been passed to suspend Advocate Rakesh Kishore.<\/p>\n<\/li>\n<li>\n<p>Advocate Kishore is <span style=\"font-weight: bold;\">barred from appearing, acting, pleading, or practicing<\/span> in any court, tribunal, or authority across India.<\/p>\n<\/li>\n<li>\n<p>All <span style=\"font-weight: bold;\">identity cards, proximity passes, and access permissions<\/span> issued to him by courts or Bar Associations are rendered <span style=\"font-weight: bold;\">inoperative<\/span>.<\/p>\n<\/li>\n<li>\n<p>The <span style=\"font-weight: bold;\">Bar Council of Delhi<\/span> has been directed to update his status and notify all relevant judicial bodies.<\/p>\n<\/li>\n<li>\n<p>The BCI has initiated <span style=\"font-weight: bold;\">disciplinary proceedings<\/span> and issued a <span style=\"font-weight: bold;\">show cause notice<\/span>, requiring him to respond within <span style=\"font-weight: bold;\">15 days<\/span>.<\/p>\n<\/li>\n<li>\n<p>He will be required to submit an <span style=\"font-weight: bold;\">affidavit of compliance<\/span> within <span style=\"font-weight: bold;\">48 hours<\/span> of receiving the order, confirming that he is not participating in any legal matters during the suspension period.<\/p>\n<\/li>\n<li>\n<p style=\"margin-bottom: 3%;\">The order will be circulated to the <span style=\"font-weight: bold;\">Registry of the Supreme Court<\/span>, all <span style=\"font-weight: bold;\">High Courts<\/span>, <span style=\"font-weight: bold;\">District Courts<\/span>, and <span style=\"font-weight: bold;\">Bar Associations<\/span>, including the <span style=\"font-weight: bold;\">Supreme Court Bar Association<\/span>, to ensure full enforcement.<\/p>\n<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<\/div>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p style=\"font-style: italic;\">BCI issued immediate suspension of Supreme Court Lawyer for attempting to hurl shoes at CJI BR Gavai during a proceeding;
