It is a Centre dedicated towards carrying out research in the niche area of Criminal Law. The Centre provides a platform for a holistic research environment and aims to further knowledge and academic discussions about the multifaceted dimensions of criminal science.<\/p>\n<h3>ABOUT THE COMPETITION<\/h3>\n<p style=\"margin-bottom: 3%;\">GCRCJS is pleased to organise the 4th edition of its Legislative Drafting Competition. The competition aims to provide participants with an opportunity to learn the nuances of legislative drafting and refine their skills in the area. It allows participants to explore the process of drafting, from identifying gaps in existing law to balancing the ideal and the pragmatic, while engaging with pressing contemporary legal issues.<\/p>\n<h3>COMPETITION THEME<\/h3>\n<p style=\"\">The theme for this year is:<\/p>\n<p style=\"margin-left: 36pt; margin-bottom: 3%;\">&#8220;The Whistleblower and Witness Protection Act, 2025&#8221;<\/p>\n<p style=\"margin-bottom: 3%;\">Whistleblowers and witnesses form the backbone of transparency and justice in India but face harassment, intimidation, professional retaliation, and even threats to life. The competition invites participants to draft a comprehensive legislation that addresses these challenges and ensures robust mechanisms for protection, accountability, and democratic integrity.<\/p>\n<h3>ELIGIBILITY AND TEAM COMPOSITION<\/h3>\n<p style=\"margin-bottom: 3%;\">The competition is open to all students pursuing undergraduate or postgraduate studies from recognised law colleges\/universities, with participation allowed individually or in a team of up to two members.<\/p>\n<h3>PRIZES AND CERTIFICATES<\/h3>\n<ul style=\"list-style-type: disc;\">\n<li>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: bold;\">Winner:<\/span> &#8377;9,000<\/p>\n<\/li>\n<li>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: bold;\">1st Runner-Up:<\/span> &#8377;7,000<\/p>\n<\/li>\n<li>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: bold;\">2nd Runner-Up:<\/span> &#8377;5,000<\/p>\n<\/li>\n<li>\n<p>All participants will receive a <span style=\"font-weight: bold;\">Certificate of Participation<\/span>.<\/p>\n<\/li>\n<li>\n<p style=\"margin-bottom: 3%;\">Top ten drafts will be awarded a <span style=\"font-weight: bold;\">Certificate of Merit<\/span>.<\/p>\n<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<h3>SUBMISSION DEADLINE<\/h3>\n<p style=\"font-weight: bold;\">24th November, 2025<\/p>\n<p style=\"font-style: italic;\">Note: No submission from the participants will be entertained after the due date.<\/p>\n<h3>SUBMISSION GUIDELINES<\/h3>\n<ul style=\"list-style-type: disc;\">\n<li>\n<p>No registration fee.<\/p>\n<\/li>\n<li>\n<p>Mode: Online.<\/p>\n<\/li>\n<li>\n<p>Submissions must be made in both <span style=\"font-weight: bold;\">.doc\/.docx and .pdf<\/span> formats.<\/p>\n<\/li>\n<li>\n<p>File name format: <span style=\"font-weight: bold;\">&lt;SUBMISSION FOR LEGISLATIVE DRAFTING COMPETITION (First Name_Last Name)&gt;<\/span><\/p>\n<\/li>\n<li>\n<p>Maximum page limit: <span style=\"font-weight: bold;\">25 pages<\/span> (excluding cover page).<\/p>\n<\/li>\n<li>\n<p>Formatting: Times New Roman, font size 12, 1.5 spacing, justified text, 1-inch margins, no paragraph spacing.
