Supreme Court:<\/span> In an appeal filed by an advocate against the order of the Bar Council of India , wherein the appellant was found guilty of professional misconduct and was imposed a punishment of three years’ suspension from the roll of advocates maintained by the State Bar Council, the Division Bench of Surya Kant and Joymalya Bagchi, JJ., taking note of the serious misconduct committed by the appellant, particularly his repeated and scandalous allegations against the respondent-complainant, the Court refused to take a lenient view. The appeal was dismissed with a cost of ₹1 lakh.<\/p>\n

The Court directed the Collector, Agra, to attach the properties of the appellant to recover the cost amount. It further ordered that the amount recovered be paid to the respondent as compensation within three months.<\/p>\n

Additionally, the Court instructed the Bar Council not to renew the appellant’s license without prior permission from the Court. It also directed that a report regarding the completion of the sentence awarded to the appellant be submitted to the Secretary General of the Court.<\/p>\n

The appeal was accordingly disposed of.<\/p>\n
