National Human Rights Commission:<\/span> On 03-09-2025, the National Human Rights Commission (‘NHRC’) took suo motu cognizance of the reported rape and murder of a 10-year-old girl by a gardener in Maner, Patna, Bihar.<\/p>\n

As per the media report, on 26-08-2025, the victim had gone to collect wood when the perpetrator lured her with a guava to a room near the garden and committed the heinous crime. Noting that the victim was missing, the family reported the same, and her body was recovered two days later, hanging from a tree. Allegedly, the perpetrator hung the body on a tree to disguise the murder as suicide.<\/p>\n

NHRC observed that if the media report was true, it raised serious concerns regarding human rights violations. Therefore, it issued notices to the Director General of Police, Bihar, and the District Magistrate, Patna, calling for a detailed report on the matter within two weeks, including compensation, if any, provided to the next of kin of the deceased victim.<\/p>\n<\/div>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"
