This Amendment came into force on 22-7-2025.<\/p>\n<h3>Key Points of TPDS (Control) Amendment Order, 2025:<\/h3>\n<ol style=\"list-style-type: decimal;\">\n<li>TPDS Amendment Order updates the <a href=\"http:\/\/www.scconline.com\/DocumentLink\/5k7pDiE0\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">Targeted Public Distribution System (Control) Order, 2015<\/a> strengthening the framework for beneficiary verification and ration card issuance for better accountability in India\u2019s food subsidy system.<\/li>\n<li><span style=\"font-weight: bold;\">Clause 3<\/span> now mandates all <span style=\"font-weight: bold;\">eligible households<\/span> for a mandatory <span style=\"font-weight: bold;\">e-KYC<\/span> every <span style=\"font-weight: bold;\">5<\/span> years, ensuring that records remain current and accurate.<\/li>\n<li>Restrictions are imposed on the issuance of separate ration cards to individuals under <span style=\"font-weight: bold;\">18 years of age<\/span> and will require the <span style=\"font-weight: bold;\">Aadhaar details<\/span> of children under <span style=\"font-weight: bold;\">5 years of age<\/span>, with full e-KYC to be completed within <span style=\"font-weight: bold;\">a year after a child turns five<\/span>.<\/li>\n<li>State Governments will temporarily disable ration cards that are unused for <span style=\"font-weight: bold;\">six months<\/span>, introduced under Clause 4 to address misuse and inefficiency.
