Justice Sanjiv Khanna shares a longstanding and distinguished relationship with the University, having previously served as its <span style=\"font-weight: bold;\">Visitor<\/span>. His association has been marked by deep commitment to the cause of legal education and institutional growth. His consent to serve in this prestigious capacity is a matter of great academic significance and pride for the entire HPNLU community. This request was made by <span style=\"font-weight: bold;\">Prof. (Dr.) Priti Saxena<\/span>, Vice-Chancellor, Himachal Pradesh National Law University (HPNLU), Shimla which Lordship has graciously accepted.<\/p>\n<p style=\"margin-bottom: 3%;\">Justice Sanjiv Khanna, the <span style=\"font-weight: bold;\">51st Chief Justice of the Supreme Court of India<\/span>, retired from the apex court on <span style=\"font-weight: bold;\">13th May, 2025<\/span>, leaving behind a legacy defined by judicial erudition, administrative excellence, and unwavering commitment to justice. Elevated to the Supreme Court of India on <span style=\"font-weight: bold;\">18th January, 2019<\/span>, Justice Khanna held several prominent positions during his illustrious tenure.<\/p>\n<p style=\"margin-bottom: 3%;\">With the wealth of knowledge, vast judicial experience, and unwavering integrity that Justice Khanna brings, HPNLU is poised to enter a new era of academic excellence and research leadership. As Distinguished Professor, his presence is expected to immensely enrich the intellectual environment of the University and inspire generations of legal scholars and practitioners.<\/p>\n<p
