{"id":352354,"date":"2025-07-04T11:30:35","date_gmt":"2025-07-04T06:00:35","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/www.scconline.com\/blog\/?p=352354"},"modified":"2025-07-04T11:25:09","modified_gmt":"2025-07-04T05:55:09","slug":"sc-collegium-recommends-appointment-judges-for-9-hcs-legal-news","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.scconline.com\/blog\/post\/2025\/07\/04\/sc-collegium-recommends-appointment-judges-for-9-hcs-legal-news\/","title":{"rendered":"Supreme Court Collegium recommends appointment of Judges for 9 High Courts"},"content":{"rendered":"<div style=\"text-align: justify; line-height: 150%;\">\n<p style=\"margin-bottom: 3%;\">On 1-7-2025 and 2-7-2025, the Supreme Court Collegium led by CJI B.R Gavai, after due deliberations, recommended the following names to be appointed as High Court Judges:<\/p>\n<h3>Meghalaya High Court<\/h3>\n<ul style=\"list-style-type: disc;\">\n<li>\n<p style=\"margin-bottom: 3%;\">The Supreme Court Collegium recommended the appointment of <span style=\"font-weight: bold;\">Justice Biswadeep Bhattacharjee<\/span>, Additional Judge, as a Permanent Judge of the High Court of Meghalaya after converting the existing post of Additional Judge into the post of a Permanent Judge.<\/p>\n<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p style=\"margin-bottom: 3%;\">CJI BR Gavai led Collegium further recommended the names of the following <span style=\"font-weight: bold;\">Judicial Officers and Advocates<\/span> to be elevated as High Court Judges:<\/p>\n<h3>Andhra Pradesh High Court:<\/h3>\n<ul style=\"list-style-type: disc;\">\n<li>\n<p style=\"margin-bottom: 3%;\">Tuhin Kumar Gedela, Advocate, was recommended as a Judge of the High Court of Andhra Pradesh.<\/p>\n<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<h3>Delhi High Court:<\/h3>\n<p>The following Judicial Officers\u2019 elevation was recommended:<\/p>\n<ul style=\"list-style-type: disc;\">\n<li>Shail Jain,<\/li>\n<li>Madhu Jain<\/li>\n<li>\n<p style=\"margin-bottom: 3%;\">Vinod Kumar<\/p>\n<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<h3>Gauhati High Court:<\/h3>\n<p>The following Advocates were recommended for elevation as Judges:<\/p>\n<ul style=\"list-style-type: disc;\">\n<li>Anjan Moni Kalita @ Anjan Kalita<\/li>\n<li>\n<p style=\"margin-bottom: 3%;\">Rajesh Mazumdar<\/p>\n<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<h3>Madhya Pradesh High Court:<\/h3>\n<p>The following Advocates were recommended for elevation as Judges:<\/p>\n<ul style=\"list-style-type: disc;\">\n<li>Pushpendra Yadav,<\/li>\n<li>Anand Singh Bahrawat,<\/li>\n<li>Ajay Kumar Nirankari,<\/li>\n<li>Jai Kumar Pillai<\/li>\n<li>\n<p style=\"margin-bottom: 3%;\">Himanshu Joshi<\/p>\n<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>The Collegium further recommended the names of following Judicial Officers to be elevated as Judges:<\/p>\n<ul style=\"list-style-type: disc;\">\n<li>Rajesh Kumar Gupta,<\/li>\n<li>Alok Awasthi,<\/li>\n<li>Ratnesh Chandra Singh Bisen<\/li>\n<li>Bhagwati Prasad Sharma<\/li>\n<li>\n<p style=\"margin-bottom: 3%;\">Pradeep Mittal.<\/p>\n<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<h3>Patna High Court:<\/h3>\n<p>The following Advocates were recommended as Judges<\/p>\n<ul style=\"list-style-type: disc;\">\n<li>Ajit Kumar<\/li>\n<li>\n<p style=\"margin-bottom: 3%;\">Praveen Kumar<\/p>\n<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<h3>Punjab &amp; Haryana High Court:<\/h3>\n<p>The following Judicial Officers\u2019 names were recommended for elevation as Judges:<\/p>\n<ul style=\"list-style-type: disc;\">\n<li>Virinder Aggarwal,<\/li>\n<li>Mandeep Pannu<\/li>\n<li>Parmod Goyal,<\/li>\n<li>Shalini Singh Nagpal,<\/li>\n<li>Amarinder Singh Grewal,<\/li>\n<li>Subhas Mehla,<\/li>\n<li>Surya Partap Singh<\/li>\n<li>Rupinderjit Chahal,<\/li>\n<li>Aradhana Sawhney, and<\/li>\n<li>\n<p style=\"margin-bottom: 3%;\">Yashvir Singh Rathor.<\/p>\n<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<h3>Rajasthan High Court:<\/h3>\n<ul style=\"list-style-type: disc;\">\n<li>Advocate Anuroop Singhi\u2019s name was recommended for elevation as a Judge<\/li>\n<li>\n<p style=\"margin-bottom: 3%;\">Judicial Officer Sangeeta Sharma was recommended for elevation as a Judge<\/p>\n<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<h3>Telangana High Court:<\/h3>\n<p>The following Advocates were recommended as Judges<\/p>\n<ul style=\"list-style-type: disc;\">\n<li>Gouse Meera Mohiuddin<\/li>\n<li>Chalapathi Rao Suddala,<\/li>\n<li>Vakiti Ramakrishna Reddy<\/li>\n<li>\n<p style=\"margin-bottom: 3%;\">Gadi Praveen Kumar<\/p>\n<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<\/div>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p style=\"font-style: italic;\">The Collegium led by CJI B.R.
