The scheme is designed to <span style=\"font-weight: bold;\">enhance irrigation efficiency<\/span>, promote <span style=\"font-weight: bold;\">equitable water distribution<\/span>, and encourage the integration of <span style=\"font-weight: bold;\">modern technologies<\/span> such as <span style=\"font-weight: bold;\">pressurized pipeline networks<\/span>, <span style=\"font-weight: bold;\">Internet of Things devices<\/span>, and <span style=\"font-weight: bold;\">Supervisory Control and Data Acquisition systems<\/span> for smarter, more transparent water management.<\/p>\n<p style=\"margin-bottom: 3%;\">Despite these progressive steps taken, several media reports have raised concern across the farming community, suggesting that the Central Government intends to <span style=\"font-style: italic;\">impose <span style=\"font-weight: bold;\">water user charges<\/span> under the newly launched scheme<\/span>, particularly impacting farmers\u2019 pocket.<\/p>\n<p style=\"margin-bottom: 1%;\">In response, <span style=\"font-weight: bold;\">Hon\u2019ble Minister of Jal shakti, Shri C.R. Patil<\/span>, as categorically rebutted these claims, stating:<\/p>\n<p style=\"margin-left: 36pt; margin-bottom: 3%;\">\u2018<span style=\"font-style: italic;\">There is no provision under the M-CADWM pilot project to impose water charges on farmers. This official clarification was issued to ensure <span style=\"font-weight: bold;\">transparency<\/span> and to counter <span style=\"font-weight: bold;\">misinformation<\/span> surrounding one of India\u2019s most progressive irrigation modernization initiatives.<\/p>\n<h3>What\u2019s the M-CADWM Scheme?<\/h3>\n<p style=\"margin-bottom: 3%;\">Launched on <span style=\"font-weight: bold;\">April 9, 2025<\/span>, the <span style=\"font-weight: bold;\">M-CADWM Scheme<\/span> is a sub-scheme under the <span style=\"font-weight: bold;\">Pradhan Mantri Krishi Sinchayee Yojana.<\/span> It aims to support farmers by upgrading outdated irrigation systems with <span style=\"font-weight: bold;\">underground pipelines<\/span> and <span style=\"font-weight: bold;\">smart technologies<\/span> to ensure more efficient water delivery to fields.
