Amrita Sinha, J., held that the transgender identity card of the petitioner shall be considered at the time of consideration of the petitioner\u2019s application for passport.<\/p>\n<p style=\"margin-bottom: 3%;\">The petitioner, identifying as transgender, had previously initiated an application for a passport. However, from the report filed by the Assistant Passport Officer of the Regional Passport Office, Kolkata, dated 17-06-2025, it emerged that the said application had lapsed over a year ago. As per the passport issuance rules and regulations, applications that are not acted upon or are incomplete within a stipulated timeframe lapse, requiring the applicant to initiate a fresh application.<\/p>\n<p style=\"margin-bottom: 3%;\">Thus, the Court directed the petitioner to undertake the necessary procedural steps afresh in accordance with law, including submission of the requisite application, supporting documents, and payment of the prescribed fees.<\/p>\n<p style=\"margin-bottom: 3%;\">[<span style=\"font-weight: bold; color: #632423;\">Anuprabha Das Majumder v.
