Punjab and Haryana High Court:<\/span> The Division Bench of Anil Kshetarpal and Aman Chaudhary, JJ., initiated a suo-motu public interest litigation after considering a news report which stated that DLF Limited (\u2018DLF\u2019) was allegedly felling nearly 2,000 trees across 40 acres of land in Gurugram\u2019s Aravallis for a real estate project.<\/p>\n

Based on news item published in \u2018The Tribune\u2019 on 12-06-2025, the Court directed the impleadment of DLF and Municipal Corporation, Gurugram, as respondents apart from the State. The State counsel was further directed to inform the Municipal Corporation in this regard and file a status report within a week.<\/p>\n

Lastly, the Court directed the Registry to issue notice to the remaining respondents without payment of process fee.<\/p>\n
