Karnataka High Court:<\/span> On 6-6-2025, while hearing the petition filed by RCB Marketing Head, Nikhil Sosale, challenging his arrest in connection with Chinnaswamy Stadium stampede, the Single Judge Bench of S.R. Krishna Kumar, J.<\/span>, declined to provide any interim relief stating that they cannot pass any order without hearing the State. The Bench adjourned the matter and will now hear the case on 9-6-2025.<\/p>\n

In a terrible turn of events, Indian Premier League (IPL) victory celebrations for Royal Challengers Bengaluru at M. Chinnaswamy Stadium on 4-6-2025, took a tragic turn when a stampede broke out outside the stadium, killing around 11 people and injuring many. The Karnataka High Court on 5-6-2025, took suo motu cognizance of the tragedy<\/a> and issued notice to the State to present a status report and directed them develop a SOP to deal with such incidents.<\/p>\n

Counsel for Nikhil Sosale submitted that his arrest was illegal that the arrest was made by an in-charge Investigating Officer on the basis of a Cabinet decision.<\/p>\n

The matter has now been adjourned to be heard on 9-6-2025.<\/p>\n
