National Human Rights Commission:<\/span> On 05-06-2025, the National Human Rights Commission (\u2018NHRC\u2019) took suo motu cognizance of a press release issued by the Press Club of India (\u2018PCI\u2019) stating that the assault of two journalists by the police in Bhind, Madhya Pradesh, allegedly, under the supervision of the District Superintendent\u00a0of Police.<\/p>\n

According to NHRC\u2019s press release, both journalists were further forced to record statements stating that all matters between them had been resolved.<\/p>\n

The NHRC noted that if the contents of the press release on assault of journalists were true, it raised a serious issue of violation of human rights. Therefore, it issued notices to the Director General of Police, Madhya Pradesh, calling for a detailed report within two weeks.<\/p>\n<\/div>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"
