Chandurkar as Judges of Supreme Court"},"content":{"rendered":"<div style=\"text-align: justify; line-height: 150%;\">\n<p>On 29-5-2025, the President of India, in exercise of powers under Article <a href=\"https:\/\/www.scconline.com\/DocumentLink.aspx?q=JTXT-0001574847\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">124(2)<\/a> of the <a href=\"https:\/\/www.scconline.com\/DocumentLink.aspx?q=JTXT-0002726967\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">Constitution<\/a>, appointed the following as new Judges of Supreme Court of India:<\/p>\n<ul style=\"list-style-type: disc;\">\n<li>Justice N.V. Anjaria, Chief Justice, Karnataka High Court<\/li>\n<li>Justice Vijay Bishnoi, Chief Justice Gauhati High Court<\/li>\n<li>\n<p style=\"margin-bottom: 3%;\">Justice Atul S. Chandurkar, Judge, Bombay High Court<\/p>\n<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p style=\"margin-bottom: 3%;\">The confirmation of appointment of Supreme Court Judges comes 3 days after their names were <a href=\"https:\/\/www.scconline.com\/blog\/post\/2025\/05\/26\/sc-collegium-recommends-appointment-3-judges-supreme-court-legal-news\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">recommended<\/a> by the Supreme Court Collegium on 26-5-2025.<\/p>\n<p style=\"margin-bottom: 3%;\">Currently, the judicial strength of the Supreme Court stands at 30 Judges after the retirement of former <a href=\"https:\/\/www.scconline.com\/blog\/post\/2025\/05\/13\/know-thy-judge-chief-justice-sanjiv-khanna-51st-chief-justice-of-india-bids-farewell-scc-times\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">CJI Sanjiv Khanna<\/a>, <a href=\"https:\/\/www.scconline.com\/blog\/post\/2025\/05\/16\/justice-bela-m-trivedi-retirement-career-judgments-sc-legal-news\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">Justice Bela M. Trivedi<\/a> and <a href=\"https:\/\/www.scconline.com\/blog\/post\/2025\/05\/23\/justice-abhay-shreeniwas-oka-a-tireless-champion-of-justice-bids-farewell-to-supreme-court-of-india-scc-times\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">Justice Abhay S.
