Anti-Corruption Ombudsman Lokpal:<\/span> On 28-05-2025, the Lokpal disposed all the complaints filed against Madhabi Puri Buch, former Chairperson of Securities and Exchange Board of India (SEBI), in the Hindenburg case. The six-member bench headed by A.M. Khanwilkar, J., held that the complaints were presumptions and assumptions that were not supported by any verifiable material and did not attract the ingredients of the offences in Prevention of Corruption Act, 1988<\/a>.<\/p>\n

Referring to Hindenburg report, the Bench said that the report by itself could not be made the sole basis to escalate action against the Ms. Buch. The Bench also held that the allegations were untenable, unsubstantiated and bordering on frivolity.<\/p>\n
