Gavai, CJ., and A.G. Masih, J., noted that the High Court had adjourned the petitioner&#8217;s matter on 27 occasions and opined that <span style=\"font-weight: bold;\">in the matters of personal liberty, the High Courts are not expected to keep the matter pending<\/span> for such a long time and do nothing, except for adjourning from time to time.<\/p>\n<p style=\"margin-bottom: 3%;\">The Court said that normally it would not have entertained the petition; however, given that the High Court has adjourned the matter 27 times, hence the Court became inclined to issue notice.<\/p>\n<p style=\"margin-bottom: 3%;\">The Court noted that petitioner has been incarcerated for a period of more than four years. The complainant&#8217;s evidence has also been recorded.
