About DSNLU<\/h3>\n

Damodaram Sanjivayya National Law University was established in 2008 through an Act of the Andhra Pradesh State Assembly (Act 32 of 2008). It is named after Damodaram Sanjivayya, the 2nd<\/span> Chief Minister of Andhra Pradesh, a leader of the marginalized sections, and for being a leader who strived for the advancement of society. He was known for being a modest and sincere leader of the masses, apart from being a lawyer himself.<\/p>\n

DSNLU endeavors to be a premier law school with state-of-the-art facilities and an emphasis on clinical aspects to promote and provide world-class education, training, research consultancy, and services. We strive to design and deliver unique, innovative, and research-based pedagogy for the holistic promotion of the students. The university offers a five-year integrated B.A. LL.B. Drishtikon is a committee of DSNLU that organises weekly discussions on socio-legal, political, and historical issues. It provides a platform for students of DSNLU to freely express their drishtikon<\/span> or point of view. Orpheus Sabha Foundation is a Not-for-Profit company. Participants will have the opportunity to engage with real world policy challenges and propose innovative solutions. The competition envisions to instil the spirit of policy making to all sections of society through encompassment of various ideas and perspectives to strengthen the legal framework. The competition provides a unique platform for the confluence of theory and its application creatively in real-life scenarios by which problems of the contemporary times can be solved through ideas from young minds.<\/p>\n

Theme: The Challenge of Satellite Internet in India<\/p>\n

Satellite internet provides high-speed connectivity to remote and underserved regions by transmitting signals directly from satellites to ground terminals. While it offers significant advantages, especially in difficult terrains, it also poses serious challenges. One major issue is the lack of clear regulatory frameworks governing satellite internet services, leading to concerns over spectrum management, licensing, and cross-border signal interference. Security risks such as unmonitored data flows, espionage, and cyberattacks become harder to control without localized infrastructure.<\/p>\n

Additionally, satellite internet can bypass national laws like internet shutdowns during emergencies, raising sovereignty and governance concerns. The absence of enforceable agreements with foreign providers further complicates legal accountability. GUIDELINES<\/h3>\n

Format Of Draft Legislation<\/h3>\n

  1. \n

    The draft policy submitted must contain the following: –<\/p>\n<\/li>\n

  2. \n

    Policy Title: A short and simple title apt with the body of the submission An Abstract: A summary of the Policy<\/p>\n<\/li>\n

  3. \n

    The text must be in Times New Roman with Size 12, line spacing should be set to 1.5, no paragraph spacing with a one-inch margin on each side, and the alignment of the text should be justified.<\/p>\n<\/li>\n

  4. \n

    Footnotes must be in Times New Roman, Size 10, with Single Line spacing.<\/p>\n<\/li>\n

  5. \n

    Page numbers must be given in the draft<\/p>\n<\/li>\n

  6. \n

    The draft shall not exceed word limit of 3000 words (excluding the cover page and abstract).<\/p>\n<\/li>\n

  7. \n

    File should not contain any detail of Participant, except team code. The cover page of the submission should include the Long Title of the draft along with the team code on top right side of the cover page.<\/p>\n<\/li>\n

  8. \n

    The content of the legislation should be original and not plagiarized (15% limit), or there shall be a deduction of 1 mark each for every percent or can lead to disqualification. The decision of the organizers shall be final<\/p>\n<\/li>\n<\/ol>\n

    General Instructions<\/h3>\n

    1. \n

      Mode of the Competition: Online. Language: The competition will be conducted in the English language.<\/p>\n<\/li>\n

    2. \n

      Any participant’s request to postpone registration date will not be considered. Any form of identification mark of the participants is restricted on the policy except team code.<\/p>\n<\/li>\n

    3. \n

      Submission of the file is to be made in both Doc – Docx & Pdf formats. Submission made by the participants is to be titled ‘TC:XX’, through E-mail ID neeti@dsnlu.ac.in<\/a>.<\/p>\n<\/li>\n

    4. \n

      50% similarity of two or more drafts will lead to disqualification of the participants from the competition.<\/p>\n<\/li>\n

    5. \n

      Plagiarism up to 15% only is allowed. The participants would hold all the rights over their draft after the competition ends. The decision of organizers is final and binding.<\/p>\n<\/li>\n

    6. \n

      The organizers reserve the right to amend any condition or rules in the competition. Non-adherence of any of the guidelines may lead to disqualification of the participants<\/p>\n<\/li>\n<\/ol>\n
