Supreme Court:<\/span> The Division Bench of Vikram Nath and Sandeep Mehta, JJ., on 9-5-2025 considered a public interest litigation seeking to replace 5-year LL.B course with a 4-year LL.B course. The PIL had stated that the National Education Policy 2020 (NEP 2020) promotes four-year undergraduate courses for professional degrees.<\/p>\n

The Court instead of issuing any notice, tagged the instant PIL with another matter concerning recognition of 1-year LL.M courses.<\/p>\n

The PIL also sought directions for the Central Government to set up a Legal Education Commission or Expert Committee consisting of Eminent Educationists, Jurists, Retired Judges, Advocates, and Professors to review the Syllabus, Curriculum and Duration of the LL.B and LL.M Courses.<\/p>\n
