Manipal Law School, Manipal Academy of Higher Education (Institution of Eminence, deemed to be University) Bengaluru, recently concluded its flagship event, the 2nd Dr. TMA Pai International Technology Law Moot Court Competition, 2025, organised on 26th – 27th April ,2025 with a resounding success, drawing in some of the brightest legal minds from across India. Out of over 50 initial registrations, 18 teams were shortlisted to compete in a series of intense preliminary and knockout rounds. The event offered a dynamic platform for law students to demonstrate advocacy, legal analysis, and teamwork.<\/p>\n

Day 1<\/span> of the event saw the 18 teams battle out two preliminary rounds out of which 8 Teams proceeded to the quarter finals.<\/p>\n

Day 2<\/span> saw the remaining 4 teams ferociously compete in the semi-finals.<\/p>\n

The much-anticipated final round took place in the Moot Court Hall, culminating the competition with a riveting display of talent and legal reasoning.<\/p>\n

Presiding over the final round were three highly esteemed personalities from the legal and policy realms. The final bench was led by Hon’ble Mr. Justice Suraj Govindaraj, Judge at the High Court of Karnataka<\/span>, whose presence brought immense prestige to the proceedings. He was joined by Prof. (Dr.) Sarasu Esther Thomas, Director of Manipal Law School<\/span>, whose passion for legal education and advocacy has long inspired students and faculty alike. Rounding off the panel was Mr. Pranav Bhaskar Tiwari, Senior Programme Manager at The Dialogue<\/span>. Together, the bench provided insightful observations, posed challenging questions, and enriched the experience for the participants and the audience<\/p>\n

After a closely contested final, SASTRA Deemed University, Thanjavur<\/span>, emerged as the champions of the competition. The winning team-Gayathri Narayanan N, Anupamaa S, and Kavya R Krishnan<\/span> – impressed the judges with their precision and poise.<\/p>\n

The runners-up<\/span> were from School of Excellence in Law, Tamil Nadu Dr. Ambedkar Law University, Chennai<\/span>, represented by Ashwad D, Surya S P, and Donna Gadiel<\/span>, who showcased commendable advocacy throughout.<\/p>\n

The Best Memorial was awarded to the team from NMIMS, Hyderabad<\/span>, consisting of Akshaya Macharla, Sumaiyah Fathima, and Ramadugu Shanmuk<\/span>, for their articulate and well-researched written submissions.<\/p>\n

Avanthika Venkatesh from National Law School of India University, Bengaluru<\/span> was adjudged the Best Speaker (Female)<\/span> for her eloquence and persuasive legal reasoning.<\/p>\n

Amitansh Kumar from Institute of Law, Nirma University, Ahmedabad<\/span> was named Best Speaker (Male)<\/span>, impressing both judges and peers with his courtroom presence and analytical clarity.<\/p>\n

More than just a competition, the event was a celebration of principled advocacy, critical thinking, and community among future legal professionals. The Moot Court Society congratulates all participants, winners, and judges and looks forward to hosting an even more remarkable edition next year.<\/p>\n
