The National Legal Services Authority (‘NALSA’) announced that the 2nd National Lok Adalat(‘NLA’) of the year 2025 was scheduled to be organised in the 28 States and Union Territories on 10-05-2025 by the Legal Services Authorities, under the aegis of the NALSA and the leadership of Sanjiv Khanna, CJI., and Patron-in-Chief of NALSA, and B.R. Gavai, CJI-Designate and Executive Chairman of NALSA.<\/p>\n

In a few States and UTs, where courts remain closed due to summer vacations, the NLA will be held on later dates, which are as follows:<\/p>\n

14-06-2025: Assam, Kerala, Puducherry, Tamil Nadu & Telangana<\/p>\n

21-06-2025: Andaman and Nicobar Islands<\/p>\n

05-07-2025: Andhra Pradesh<\/p>\n

12-07-2025: Gujarat and Karnataka<\/p>\n

The upcoming NLA will cover various types of disputes at both pre-litigation and pending stages. Some of these disputes are:<\/p>\n

    The National Lok Adalat was introduced to encourage mutual settlement and offer an efficient, economical, and participatory mode of resolving disputes without prolonged litigation. Since, the awards passed by Lok Adalats are legally binding and enforceable, the process ensures finality and reduces the burden on regular
