{"id":347204,"date":"2025-05-06T11:00:48","date_gmt":"2025-05-06T05:30:48","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/www.scconline.com\/blog\/?p=347204"},"modified":"2025-05-06T10:45:04","modified_gmt":"2025-05-06T05:15:04","slug":"place-complete-process-of-appointment-to-high-court-supreme-court-placed-sc-website-legal-news","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.scconline.com\/blog\/post\/2025\/05\/06\/place-complete-process-of-appointment-to-high-court-supreme-court-placed-sc-website-legal-news\/","title":{"rendered":"Supreme Court decides to place the complete process of appointments to the High Courts &amp; Supreme Court on its website"},"content":{"rendered":"<div style=\"text-align: justify; line-height: 150%;\">\n<p style=\"margin-bottom: 3%;\"><span style=\"font-weight: bold;\">Supreme Court:<\/span> In a massive push for transparency vis-a-vis judicial appointments, the Supreme Court on 5-5-2025, notified that it has placed the complete process of appointments to the High Courts and Supreme Court including the role assigned to the High Court Collegium, the role and inputs received from the State Governments, Government of India, and consideration by the Supreme Court Collegium, on its website for knowledge and awareness of the public.<\/p>\n<p>The document uploaded on the <span style=\"font-weight: bold;\">&#8220;Collegium Resolutions&#8221;<\/span> tab of the Supreme Court website also consists of proposals approved by the Supreme Court Collegium for appointments as High Court Judges during the period from 9-11-2022 to 5-5-2025 with the following information:<\/p>\n<ul style=\"list-style-type: disc;\">\n<li>\n<p>Name of the Judges<\/p>\n<\/li>\n<li>\n<p>High Court<\/p>\n<\/li>\n<li>\n<p>Source &#8212; whether from Service or Bar,<\/p>\n<\/li>\n<li>\n<p>Date of recommendation by the Supreme Court Collegium,<\/p>\n<\/li>\n<li>\n<p>Date of notification by Department of Justice,<\/p>\n<\/li>\n<li>\n<p>Date of appointment<\/p>\n<\/li>\n<li>\n<p>Special category (SC\/ST\/OBC\/Minority\/Woman)<\/p>\n<\/li>\n<li>\n<p style=\"margin-bottom: 3%;\">Whether the candidate is related to any sitting or retired High Court\/Supreme Court Judge<\/p>\n<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p style=\"margin-bottom: 3%;\">This is not the first time that the Supreme Court has initiated measures to keep everything transparent and accessible for the public. On 1-4-2024, the Court had decided that the <a href=\"https:\/\/www.scconline.com\/blog\/post\/2025\/04\/03\/sc-judges-declaration-of-assets-on-court-website-assuming-office-legal-news\/\" target=\"_blank\">statement of Assets of the Judges<\/a> of the Supreme Court, shall be placed in the public domain by uploading the same on the website of the Court. The Press Release on 5-5-2025 also clarified that Statements of Assets of Judges already received are being uploaded and Statement of Assets of other Judges will be uploaded as and when the current statement of assets is received.<\/p>\n<p style=\"font-weight: bold;
