Supreme Court<\/span>: The Division Bench of CJI Sanjiv Khanna and Sanjay Kumar, J. refused to entertain any further pleas challenging the constitutional validity of the Waqf Amendment Act, 2025<\/a>.<\/p>\n

However, the Bench allowed the petitioners to raise any additional grounds of challenge as interveners in the main case listed in the next week.<\/p>\n

The Bench suggested that an impleadment application be filed.<\/p>\n

The Waqf (Amendment) Bill, 2025 was passed in Lok Sabha on 03-04-2025 and was tabled in Lok Sabha on 02-04-2025 by Minister of Minority Affairs, Kiren Rijiju, proposing revision of several clauses in the existing Waqf Act, 1995<\/a>, which governs the administration of waqf properties in India. On 05-04-2025, the President gave assent to the Waqf (Amendment) Bill, 2025 to amend the Waqf Act, 1995<\/a>.<\/p>\n

The Court granted liberty to the petitioners to withdraw the pleas and raise additional grounds as impleaders\/intervenors in the ongoing hearing of the main case listed next
