With a legacy spanning over a century, it has produced distinguished legal minds who have significantly contributed to the judiciary, academia, and policymaking.<\/p>\n<h3>About the Competition<\/h3>\n<p style=\"margin-bottom: 3%;\">The competition aspires to establish a premier mooting platform in the national circuit, from Kolkata. This year&#8217;s theme is centred around <span style=\"font-weight: bold;\">Section <a href=\"https:\/\/www.scconline.com\/DocumentLink.aspx?q=JTXT-0001544939\" target=\"_blank\">34<\/a> of the <a href=\"https:\/\/www.scconline.com\/DocumentLink.aspx?q=JTXT-0002726958\" target=\"_blank\">Arbitration and Conciliation Act, 1996<\/a><\/span>, focusing on the &#8220;<span style=\"font-style: italic;\">setting aside of an arbitral in a commercial arbitration arising out of an energy dispute<\/span>&#8220;. The issue presents a critical area of legal discourse and remains relatively underexplored in moot court competitions.<\/p>\n<p style=\"margin-bottom: 3%;\">The competition aspires to offer participants a unique platform that blends courtroom advocacy with the principles of Alternative Dispute Resolution (ADR), promising a challenging and intellectually enriching mooting experience.<\/p>\n<h3>Competition Format<\/h3>\n<p style=\"margin-bottom: 3%;\">The competition will be conducted in <span style=\"font-weight: bold;\">two phases: Virtual Rounds<\/span> and <span style=\"font-weight: bold;\">In-Person Rounds<\/span>.<\/p>\n<p style=\"font-weight: bold;\">Virtual Rounds (17th and 18th May 2025)<\/p>\n<ul style=\"list-style-type: disc;\">\n<li>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: bold;\">Preliminary Rounds:<\/span> All registered teams will compete in the virtual preliminary rounds.<\/p>\n<\/li>\n<li>\n<p style=\"margin-bottom: 3%;\"><span style=\"font-weight: bold;\">Quarter-Finals:<\/span> The <span style=\"font-weight: bold;\">top 8 teams<\/span> from the preliminary rounds will advance to the virtual quarter-finals.<\/p>\n<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p style=\"font-weight: bold;\">In-Person Rounds (at the University of Calcutta) (4th June 2025)<\/p>\n<ul style=\"list-style-type: disc;\">\n<li>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: bold;\">Semi-Finals:<\/span> The <span style=\"font-weight: bold;\">top 4 teams<\/span> from the virtual rounds will compete in person.<\/p>\n<\/li>\n<li>\n<p style=\"margin-bottom: 3%;\"><span style=\"font-weight: bold;\">Finals:<\/span> The <span style=\"font-weight: bold;\">top 2 teams<\/span> will compete for the championship.<\/p>\n<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<h3>Registration Details<\/h3>\n<p>The registration process consists of <span style=\"font-weight: bold;\">two phases<\/span>, with corresponding fee payments:<\/p>\n<ul style=\"list-style-type: disc;\">\n<li>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: bold;\">Phase 1:<\/span> Initial registration fee &mdash; <span style=\"font-weight: bold;\">&#8377;2100 per team<\/span> (payable at the time of registration).<\/p>\n<\/li>\n<li>\n<p style=\"margin-bottom: 3%;\"><span style=\"font-weight: bold;\">Phase 2:<\/span> Only for teams qualifying for the <span style=\"font-weight: bold;\">In-Person Rounds (Semi-Finals &amp;
