Warm greetings from the Moot Court Committee of National Law University and Judicial Academy, Assam.<\/span> With immense pride and joy, we are elated to inform you that we are organising the 4th Edition<\/span> of Vox Anatolis Moot Court Competition<\/span> in virtual mode<\/span> from 25th – 27th April, 2025<\/span> in collaboration with the Centre for Tribal Law, Policy and Justice<\/span> of NLU Assam<\/span> as well as SCC Online and SCC Times as our Knowledge and Media Partner respectively.<\/p>\n

ABOUT VOX ANATOLIS<\/h3>\n

The Vox Anatolis Moot Court Competition<\/span> (“The Voice of the East”), organised by NLU Assam<\/span>, uniquely focuses on legal issues pertinent to Northeast India<\/span>. Designed to engage law students nationwide, it provides a platform to explore the region’s legal complexities. Previous editions have addressed significant legal and policy matters, including the National Register of Citizens<\/span> and Biodiversity Laws of Assam<\/span>, attracting widespread participation.<\/p>\n

Building upon the success of the first three editions, both regionally and nationally, we are pleased to introduce the fourth iteration of this moot in 2025<\/span> that is based on the recurring debate around the Armed Forces (Special Powers) Act, 1958<\/span> and its application in this region. With a vision to strengthen the mooting culture in Northeast India<\/span>, this edition marks the beginning of a long-term initiative to promote legal scholarship in the region. By fostering engagement at both regional and national levels, Vox Anatolis<\/span> aspires to serve as a leading forum for discourse on Northeast Indian legal issues, solidifying its reputation as The Voice of the East<\/span>.<\/p>\n

ABOUT THE UNIVERSITY<\/h3>\n

National Law University and Judicial Academy, Assam<\/span> (NLUJAA) was established by the Government of Assam by way of the enactment of the National Law University and Judicial Academy, Assam Act, 2009<\/span> (Assam Act No. XXV of 2009).<\/p>\n

The Hon’ble Chief Justice of the Gauhati High Court is the Chancellor of the University. NLUJAA promotes and makes available modern legal education and research facilities to its students, scholars, and faculty drawn from across the country, including the North East, hailing from different socio-economic, ethnic, religious, and cultural backgrounds.<\/p>\n

ABOUT THE CENTRE FOR TRIBAL LAW, POLICY AND JUSTICE<\/h3>\n

The Centre for Tribal Law, Policy and Justice of NLU Assam aspires to contribute to nation-building by fostering introspection on how justice for tribal women, children, and indigenous tribal communities can be best served and secured. As an initiative towards ensuring inclusive growth for tribal communities, the Centre endeavours to adopt a holistic approach to tribal issues, integrating the sociology of law with the constitutional values of equality and fraternity among the diverse communities in the region. The Centre undertakes research activities in the core areas of tribal customary laws and institutions to better understand their relevance, impact, and evolution in contemporary society. It actively pursues projects funded by both Central and State Governments to further research and policy development in tribal law and justice.<\/p>\n

ELIGIBILITY<\/h3>\n

The Competition is open to all students pursuing an undergraduate degree in law from a recognised institution. There is no limit on the number of teams from the same institution. After the results of the memorial qualification round are declared, top 32 teams shall qualify for the oral rounds that are to be held online.<\/p>\n
