The Academic Council &#8211; the highest academic body of the University has officially approved the <span style=\"font-weight: bold;\">Menstrual Leave Policy<\/span> in its last meeting, a long-standing initiative spearheaded by the SJA.<\/p>\n<p style=\"margin-bottom: 3%;\">This victory follows a persistent and rigorous effort by the SJA, led by <span style=\"font-weight: bold;\">President Indrayani Bhadra and Vice President Suraj Kumar<\/span>. The proposal, initially introduced last year, by the previous student body, faced rejection from university authorities. Undeterred, the SJA undertook a thorough process of redrafting the policy, benchmarking it against similar initiatives in universities across the country, and refining it to suit the specific needs of NUJS.<\/p>\n<p style=\"margin-bottom: 3%;\">The journey to approval was marked by continuous engagement with the university administration. The turning point came during the Academic Council meeting on July 4, 2024, when deliberations led to the formation of a committee, including the SJA President, tasked with providing a final report on the policy. The committee&#8217;s report, enriched by insights from faculty members, played a crucial role in advocating for the policy&#8217;s approval.<\/p>\n<p style=\"margin-bottom: 3%;\">The efforts bore fruit when, during the latest Academic Council meeting, the policy was once again tabled&#8212;this time to resounding success. The passage of the Menstrual Leave Policy stands as a testament to the power of persistence, collaboration, and strong student advocacy.<\/p>\n<p style=\"margin-bottom: 3%;\">This policy is not just a win for the SJA but for the entire student body. It reflects a commitment to inclusivity and student welfare at NUJS.<\/p>\n<p style=\"margin-bottom: 3%;\">The SJA extends its gratitude to Vice Chancellor Prof Dr NK Chakrabarti, Registrar Mr. Raja Chakraborty, and all students and faculty members who supported this initiative, proving once again that collective efforts can drive meaningful
