This ruling, while seemingly straightforward, has sparked debate due to its potential implications for the interpretation of the statute and its impact on future commercial litigation, particularly given that the definition of “goods” under the Sale of Goods Act, 1930<\/a>3<\/sup><\/a> includes shares.<\/p>\n

The case involved a dispute between Bhaskar Naidu, a shareholder seeking to sell his shares in a company, and Aravind Yadav, the intended buyer.
