Madhya Pradesh High Court:<\/span> In a writ petition filed by a Guest Faculty (Commerce) at Government Arts and Commerce College, Majhauli, District Sidhi (M.P.), alleging to be coerced into participating in Rashtriya Swayamsevak Sangh (RSS) activities by college authorities, thereby violating his personal ideological beliefs, a single-judge bench of Vivek Agarwal, J., disposed of the petition based on the undertaking by the State to promptly investigate the complaints and mitigate any identified threat to the petitioner.<\/p>\n

The petitioner contended that he was being compelled by the College authorities to participate in activities of the Rashtriya Swayamsevak Sangh (RSS). The petitioner stated that the ideology of the RSS did not align with his personal beliefs and when he refused to comply, he was allegedly subjected to beatings and threats, with a looming danger of murder. Despite filing complaints with the Superintendent of Police, Sidhi, and the Police Inspector, no action was taken against them, prompting the filing of this petition.<\/p>\n

However, the respondents assured the court that the Superintendent of Police, Sidhi, would examine the complaints and take appropriate measures to address any real threat perception within seven days from the receipt of the certified order.<\/p>\n

The Court accepted the assurance furnished by the State Government Advocate that the complaints would be investigated, and any legitimate threat would be mitigated within seven days. The Court disposed of the petition without commenting on the merits of the petitioner’s claims.<\/p>\n
