In July 2003, the Institute shifted to Sector 68, Mohali. The Institute is accredited with grade &#8216;B&#8217; by the National Assessment and Accreditation Council (NAAC).<\/p>\n<h3>About the Competition<\/h3>\n<p style=\"margin-bottom: 3%;\">The prestigious Surana &amp; Surana and AIL Family Law Moot Court Competition, hosted by Army Institute of Law will be held in online mode on 21<span style=\"vertical-align: super;\">st<\/span> and 22<span style=\"vertical-align: super;\">nd<\/span> February and in physical mode on 29<span style=\"vertical-align: super;\">th<\/span> and 30<span style=\"vertical-align: super;\">th<\/span> March at the Army Institute of Law campus, Mohali. This will be the 6th edition of the competition.<\/p>\n<h3>Eligibility Criteria<\/h3>\n<p style=\"margin-bottom: 3%;\">Participation is restricted to bona-fide law students either enrolled in the 3-year law course or the 5-year integrated law course.<\/p>\n<h3>General Rules<\/h3>\n<ul style=\"list-style-type: disc;\">\n<li>\n<p>Only one team from each participating college shall be registered for the competition. Each team shall comprise of either three members (two Speakers and one Researcher) or two members (two Speakers) only.<\/p>\n<\/li>\n<li>\n<p>No faculty member, coach, observer, or a designated observer or fourth member is allowed to accompany the team, and neither will be allowed to join the teams during oral rounds.<\/p>\n<\/li>\n<li>\n<p>The language for the Competition shall be English only.<\/p>\n<\/li>\n<li>\n<p>The rounds shall comprise of- Preliminary rounds 1 &amp; 2\/Octa (Online), Quarter\/Semi and Final Rounds (Offline Rounds).<\/p>\n<\/li>\n<li>\n<p style=\"margin-bottom: 3%;\">No change in the names of the participants shall be permitted unless the same has been communicated to the organizers a week before the event in exceptional circumstances (at the discretion of organizers). It will be only allowed if the participating college attaches due proof.<\/p>\n<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<h3>Registration Details<\/h3>\n<ul style=\"list-style-type: disc;\">\n<li>\n<p>Online registrations are open from 18th January, 2025. The teams must register online by 14th Feb 2025. Teams will have to register online at <a href=\"http:\/\/www.moot.in\/\" target=\"_blank\">www.moot.in<\/a>.<\/p>\n<\/li>\n<li>\n<p>No temporary registration requests will be entertained. Kindly refrain from sending such requests to Surana &amp; Surana or Army Institute of Law (AIL).<\/p>\n<\/li>\n<li>\n<p>Participants will receive an automated system generated acknowledgement on successful submission of registration. Participants will receive an approval as acceptance of their request for participation by 15th Feb 2025 or earlier.<\/p>\n<\/li>\n<li>\n<p style=\"font-weight: bold;\">Registration Process :-<\/p>\n<p style=\"margin-left: 18pt;\">Option 1 &#8212; The Registration form cum Approval letter as provided in the rules duly signed &amp; sealed by your university\/college\/moot society.<\/p>\n<p style=\"margin-left: 18pt;\">Option 2 &#8212; Upload both (i) &amp; (ii) together as a single PDF<\/p>\n<ol style=\"list-style-type: lower-roman; margin-left: 18pt;\">\n<li>\n<p>The Registration form cum Approval letter (without seal &amp; signature) as provided in the rules duly filled along with<\/p>\n<\/li>\n<li>\n<p>Scanned copy of the authorisation letter with sign and seal from your university\/college\/moot society<\/p>\n<p style=\"margin-left: 18pt;\">or<\/p>\n<\/li>\n<\/ol>\n<p>An email communication from the official id (to be filled as notification email id during online registration process) of the institution, from your university\/college\/moot society to complete the registration process.<\/p>\n<p style=\"font-weight: bold;\">[Note:<\/p>\n<ol style=\"list-style-type: decimal;\">\n<li>\n<p>Signatories on the registration form should be any of the following :- Faculty-in-charge of MCA \/ MCS \/ MCC, Registrar, Dean, Principal, Director, Chancellor or Vice-Chancellor.<\/p>\n<li>\n<p style=\"margin-bottom: 2%;\">Registration without the scanned copy of the approval letter \/ an email communication from the college\/institution\/university or duly attested registration form will not be valid.]<\/p>\n<\/li>\n<\/ol>\n<\/li>\n<li>\n<p>Soft copy of the registration and approval letter\/ an email communication as a single PDF to be sent by email to: <a href=\"mailto:ailsurana2025@gmail.com\" target=\"_blank\">ailsurana2025@gmail.com<\/a> marked as 6th SURANA &amp; SURANA AND ARMY INSTITUTE OF LAW NATIONAL FAMILY LAW MOOT COURT COMPETITION REGISTRATION as subject of the mail latest by 14th Feb 2025. The organizers reserve the right to amend the schedule \/ rounds as per the number of participating teams.<\/p>\n<\/li>\n<li>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: bold;\">Octa final<\/span> will be conducted if the participation <span style=\"font-weight: bold;\">exceeds 24 teams.<\/span><\/p>\n<\/li>\n<li>\n<p style=\"margin-bottom: 3%;\"><span style=\"font-weight: bold;\">Quarter final<\/span> will be conducted if the participation exceeds 16 teams.<\/p>\n<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<h3>Preliminary Round<\/h3>\n<ol style=\"list-style-type: lower-alpha;\">\n<li>\n<p>There will be two preliminary rounds of arguments per team, once for applicant &amp; another for respondent.<\/p>\n<\/li>\n<li>\n<p>No team will face each other more than once in the preliminary rounds.<\/p>\n<\/li>\n<li>\n<p>Each team will face a different two-judge bench in their second round of arguments.<\/p>\n<\/li>\n<li>\n<p>Preliminary Rounds I, II will be held <span style=\"font-weight: bold;\">Virtually<\/span> on <span style=\"font-weight: bold;\">22<span style=\"vertical-align: super;\">nd<\/span> February 2025 (Saturday).<\/span><\/p>\n<\/li>\n<li>\n<p style=\"margin-bottom: 3%;\"><span style=\"text-decoration: underline;\">Top <span style=\"font-weight: bold;\">sixteen \/ eight<\/span> teams<\/span> from the Preliminary Rounds will advance to the Octa \/ Quarter final rounds.<\/p>\n<\/li>\n<\/ol>\n<h3>Octa Final \/ Quarter Final \/ Semi Final Round \/ Final Round:<\/h3>\n<ol style=\"list-style-type: lower-alpha;\">\n<li>\n<p>Draw of lots\/ Power match will decide the side of the arguments in Quarterfinals, Semifinals &amp; Finals.
