Supreme Court:<\/span> A special bench comprising of Chief Justice of India Sanjiv Khanna, Sanjay Kumar and KV Viswanathan, JJ. while hearing a batch of petitions challenging the constitutional validity of the Places of Worship (Special Provisions) Act, 1991<\/a>, directed that though fresh suits can be filed, no suits would be registered in the country against places of worship till further orders from this Court, considering that the present matter is sub-judice.<\/p>\n

In terms of existing suits, the Court also directed the no Courts will pass any effective orders including interim, final orders, including survey orders against religious structures till the next date of hearing\/further orders of this Court.<\/p>\n
