On 14 November 2024, Insolvency Law Academy (ILA) will confer Honorary Emeritus Fellowship to former, Chief Justice of India Justice Dr. D.Y. Chandrachud, and Justice Sanjay Kishan Kaul, Hon’ble former Judge of Supreme Court of India for their contribution in insolvency.<\/p>\n

The Emeritus Fellowship is also being awarded to Mr. Neil Cooper, Past President INSOL International, and Prof. Bob Wessels, Professor Emeritus, Leiden University.<\/p>\n

The Emeritus Fellowship is conferred by ILA on the most distinguished public servant, judge or professional having a proven statement of minimum twenty-five years of experience, extra-ordinary leadership, invaluable contribution to insolvency law or practice and having a reputation of maintaining the highest standard of ethics, character, integrity, professional expertise and leadership.<\/p>\n

The ILA Emeritus Fellow is selected by the Insolvency Law Academy Global Advisory Board from amongst the potential candidates around the world, in accordance with prescribed selection process. The Emeritus Fellowship is awarded by the Insolvency Law Academy Global Advisory Board after a detailed analysis of shortlisted candidates, in accordance with Insolvency Law Academy Fellowship Programme Guidelines.<\/p>\n

ILA Fellowship Program is the first of its kind initiative from India of recognition of the leadership, public service and contributions in the field of insolvency started in 2022. For the Class of 2022, Emeritus Fellowship was conferred on Mr. Arun Jaitley (posthumously), Justice Rohinton Fali Nariman and Justice Manmohan Sarin. For the Class of 2023, Fellowship was conferred on Late Dr. Bibek Debroy, Chairman of Economic Advisory Council to the Prime Minister of India, Dr. T. K. Viswanathan, Chairman, Bankruptcy Law Reforms Committee and Mr. Patrick Ang, Managing Partner, Rajah and Tann Singapore.<\/p>\n

Insolvency Law Academy (ILA) was founded as an institution of excellence dedicated to insolvency. An independent think tank and research institution, ILA contributes to robust and evidence-based policy making and enhancement of professional and ethical standards in the insolvency industry through cutting-edge research, innovation and development of best practices. One of the hallmarks of ILA is to develop a community in pursuit of education, research and scholarship in the field of insolvency.<\/p>\n
