On 9-10-2024, the Ministry of Law and Justice notified the appointment of Justice Manoj Kumar Tiwari as Acting Chief Justice of Uttaranchal High Court. The appointment was made by the President of India in exercise of power under Article 223<\/a> of the Constitution<\/a>.<\/p>\n

Justice Tiwari will perform the duties of the office of the Chief Justice with effect from 11-10-2024 consequent upon the retirement of Justice Ritu Bahri, Chief Justice, on 10-10-2024.<\/p>\n

The Supreme Court Collegium has already recommended Justice Ritu Bahri’s successor for the post of Chief Justice of Uttaranchal High Court. On 24-9-2024<\/a>, the name of Justice Narender G. was resolved to be recommended by Dr Justice DY Chandrachud, CJ, Justice Sanjiv Khanna and Justice BR Gavai.
