{"id":330505,"date":"2024-09-10T15:30:06","date_gmt":"2024-09-10T10:00:06","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/www.scconline.com\/blog\/?p=330505"},"modified":"2024-09-10T15:02:22","modified_gmt":"2024-09-10T09:32:22","slug":"delhi-hc-vacates-interim-order-against-abhishek-baxi-for-removal-tweet-on-rohan-dua-legal-news","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.scconline.com\/blog\/post\/2024\/09\/10\/delhi-hc-vacates-interim-order-against-abhishek-baxi-for-removal-tweet-on-rohan-dua-legal-news\/","title":{"rendered":"Manu Bhaker Interview row: Delhi High Court vacates interim order against Abhishek Baxi for removal of tweet on Rohan Dua"},"content":{"rendered":"<div style=\"text-align: justify; line-height: 150%;\">\n<p style=\"margin-bottom: 3%;\"><span style=\"font-weight: bold;\">Delhi High Court:<\/span> In an application filed by journalist Abhishek Baxi challenging the interim order passed by the Court on 02-09-2024, in which he and other social media platforms were directed to delete tweets against Rohan Dua regarding his interview with professional shooter Manu Bhaker, Navin Chawla, J. vacated the interim order.<\/p>\n<p style=\"margin-bottom: 3%;\">The impugned tweet by Abhishek Baxi was regarding the comment made towards Manu Bhaker by Rohan Dua which said &#8216;You are one of the most attractive females-beautiful females-in India&#8217;s history of Olympics.&#8217;<\/p>\n<p style=\"margin-bottom: 3%;\">Rohan Dua contended that the impugned tweet was not only defamatory but also had a negative impact on him and Manu Bhaker.<\/p>\n<p style=\"margin-bottom: 3%;\">After the present order was passed, Abhishek Baxi took to X (Twitter) to say &#8220;My tweet was protected exercise of free speech. Instead of being bullied, I chose to seek vacation of the injunction as the suit had misleading averments.&#8221;<\/p>\n<p style=\"margin-bottom: 3%; font-weight: bold;\">Source:
