POCSO Court, Baran, Rajasthan:<\/span> In a case registered against a 71-year-old man accused of raping his 5-year-old granddaughter, Sonia Beniwal, J., convicted the accused of the offence of rape under Penal Code, 1860<\/a> (IPC) and Protection of Children from Sexual Offences Act, 2012<\/a> (POCSO Act) and sentenced him to life imprisonment till natural death and imposed a fine of ₹ 50,000\/-<\/p>\n

In October 2022, the accused was charged with the rape of his 5-year-old granddaughter, a crime reportedly committed at his residence. The crime was discovered when the victim’s mother and aunt caught the accused in the act. A complaint was lodged by the victim’s mother leading to the registration of a case under IPC<\/a> and POCSO Act<\/a>, accused’s arrest and subsequent judicial custody.<\/p>\n
