ABOUT RGNUL<\/p>\n

Rajiv Gandhi National University of Law (RGNUL), Punjab, was established by the State Legislature of Punjab by passing the Rajiv Gandhi National University of Law, Punjab Act, (Punjab Act No. 12 of 2006). The Act incorporated a University of Law of national stature in Punjab, thereby fulfilling the need for a Centre of Excellence in legal education in the modern era of globalization and liberalization.<\/p>\n

ABOUT KATHMANDU SCHOOL OF LAW, NEPAL<\/p>\n

Kathmandu School of Law (KSL), established in 2000 AD as an affiliate of Purbanchal University, is a community based, non-profit academic institution that upholds its unrestrained commitment for a pragmatic, research based and community-responsive legal education in the country. It was conceptualized within the ambit of nonprofit movement dedicated to serve the need of an academically sound and functionally feasible legal education in Nepal. KSL is the only Law Institution that is QAA certified by UGC, Nepal.<\/p>\n

ABOUT THE PROGRAMME<\/p>\n

Rajiv Gandhi National University of Law, Punjab, in collaboration with Kathmandu School of Law, Nepal is organising 3rd One Week International Faculty Development Programme on Law and Economics. The programme is specifically designed to promote interdisciplinary thinking amongst the Faculty Members, Research Scholars and Professionals. The objective of the programme is to acquaint participants with current advancements in the fields of law and economics from an interdisciplinary and multidisciplinary standpoint. The participants of the programme will be able to avail this opportunity to enhance their knowledge, and use it for tackling the issues that arise out of the need for an interdisciplinary approach.<\/p>\n

Through knowledge sharing, it would not only support faculty members’ intellectual and scholarly growth but also make cross disciplinary and cross-border collaboration possible. The integration of modern teaching methodologies customized to the requirements of specific subjects is vital for a successful teachinglearning process in the legal field. A skilled educator must combine different disciplines in the most practical and efficient methods possible to produce the intended outcome.<\/p>\n

The sessions in the present FDP will involve active interaction amongst the participants and the resource persons. The stalwarts from the fields of Law and Economics would be delivering lectures and the Research Scholars, as well as the participating Faculty Members, will have the opportunity to ask questions and offer their comments at the end of every session.<\/p>\n
